A Tutorial Program.
For Telix, Version 3.12
including an on-line maual.
Documentation dated
March 5, 1991
I. DESCRIPTION
T-FIG is designed to give you fuller, easier control over the arrangement,
content, and configuration of your Telix communication program. It allows you
to compare configuration changes you make while Telix is running. Often,
reasons for things having to be a certain way are explained.
T-FIG is very easy for anyone to use. You don't have to remember commands,
all actions are automatic. Everything is explained fully with on-screen
displays. T-FIG picks up any changes you make in TELIX's configuration
immediately after you make them. You can run T-FIG from within TELIX, make a
Configuraton Menu change in TELIX, and go back to T-FIG and immediately see
the change.
T-FIG has been redesigned to work from Drive A. Unarchive and copy all the
files to a floppy diskette. Look at at the directory of the diskette. You
will see a file named TFIG.SLC. Copy this file to your hard disk directory
where the Telix script files are kept. When you are expert at using Telix
and don't need T-FIG any more, there's no HD directory to clean up.
The full set of files found in the shareware package are:
T-FIG.DOC
README.1ST: These files are descriptive of the program and how to use it.
T.SLC This is the control file you need to copy to the hard disk
directory where Telix script files are kept.

4. Type "TFIG" and press the ENTER key to run T-FIG. The file, TFIG.SLC
will call drive A and start the manual reader program, HYPLUS.EXE.
III. MACRO (Automatic Execution)
1. You can make a MACRO that will run T-FIG. Pressing ALT-K will take you
to TELIX's macro file area. Here, you can assign text to a specific key.
One of TELIX's features is that any text preceded with an @ is assumed
to be the name of a script file. When a key with that macro is pressed,
the script file is automatically called up and run. Assigning T.SLC to a
macro key will keep it handy and easily run.
2. I have T-FIG assigned to key "F4". To assign T-FIG to a macro key:
A. While TELIX is running, press ALT-K.
B. Press Enter.
C. Press "E" for Edit.
D. Press the key you want to assign. I use F4.
E. Type "@TFIG.SLC".
F. Press Enter.
G. Press the Spacebar.
H. Press "S" for Save.
I. Press Enter.
J. Press "X" for Exit.
That's all there is to it. Now, anytime You want to run T-FIG from within
TELIX, simply press F4.
IV. NEW FEATURES
T-FIG - Enhanced sports a couple of new features:
1. You can now SHELL to DOS whil T-FIG is running. Just press the letter,
"D" while the Main Menu is on the screen.
2. We have included an on-line reference manual for Telix. It uses
hypertext technology designed by Neil Larson of MaxThink in California.
Use the on-line manual by pressing the letter, "M" while the Main Menu is
being displayed.
I hope you enjoy using T-FIG and that it increases your enjoyment of TELIX.
Again, be sure to put all T-FIG files in the same directory.
