│ Klintonov v.2.1 October 15, 1995 │
│ written by Chuck Shipley (aka Bull Ship) │
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Please enjoy this the newest version of Klintonov. It now has
350 Clinton bashing tags for your bashing pleasure.
Klintonov is a collection of Tags (humorous one or two-liners) that
bash our beloved president (Clinton). They are meant to be taken in
fun and good humor. If you find these Tags offensive then please
don't use the program.
Where to use:
Klintonov is intended for use over a Bulletin Board System (BBS) as a
logon event or it's output redirected to a file to be displayed to a
user. Klintonov is also intended to be used during your personal
computer's boot up, or when you exit a menu or Windows etc..
Usage:
Klintonov is a command-line driven program intended to be run via a
batch file. It contains help screens that show the command line
parameters and color tables that you will need to run it. Once
you've glanced over the documentation you will have no need to read
the DOC's again.
Operation:
Klintonov now operates in MODE's. The options (switches) for all
MODE's are the same. Switches can be either upper or lower case.
Color charts are now stored in Klintonov and can be seen by typing
KLINTON from the DOS command line.
Command Line:
KLINTON.EXE <mode> <option> <line color> <tag color>
(command line parameters separated by a space)
MODE's: L = Local operation, home, not over a BBS
W = WWIV BBS operation
V = VBBS BBS operation
C = Wildcat BBS operation
P = PCBoard BBS operation
X = Exports the Tags to a text file called KLINTON.TAG
Options: M = Monochrome or Non-color, lower ASCII display
L = Lower ASCII, Color display
(user defined color)
U = Upper ASCII, Color display
(user defined color)
R = Random generated color, Upper ASCII display
R 6 = Same as R, but prevents display of WWIV's color 6
(WWIV and VBBS only switch)
Line color: 1st number is the color value as seen in that MODE's
color chart.
Tag color: 2nd number is the color value as seen in that MODE's
color chart.
"M" option does not require any other parameters.
"L" & "U" options require you to include numbers as parameters to
reflect the colors you want displayed. See the color charts for that
MODE for the color values.
"R" & "R 6" options do not require any other parameters.
Examples:
Lower ASCII display with no colors, on your personal computer:
KLINTON.EXE L M
Upper ASCII display, randomly generated colors, on your personal
computer: KLINTON.EXE L R
Upper ASCII display, sysop specified colors of Blue lines and a
Yellow Tag on a WWIV BBS: KLINTON.EXE W U 8 2
Upper ASCII display, randomly generated colors on a WWIV BBS,
preventing WWIV's flashing red from displaying: KLINTON.EXE W R 6
Upper ASCII display, randomly generated Wildcat colors, the output
redirected to a file for use by a Wildcat sysop in a logon message:
KLINTON.EXE C R > LOGON.SCR
To extract all the Clinton Bashing Tags to a text file called
KLINTON.TAG for use elsewhere: KLINTON.EXE X
Additional Information:
For those Sysop's running software that uses a different color coding
than "Heart Codes", I'm willing to add other color codes support.
Just email me, or send me, an example of the color code that you
want and I'll see what I can do.
Wildcat Sysops: Since Wildcat doesn't have a "logon event" where you
can run a program during a users logon, redirect Klintonov's output
to a text file during each users logoff. Then copy that file or
append it to a file that users see during logon.
PCBoard Sysops: I don't know exactly how you will be able to use
Klintonov. Logon and Logoff events are pretty common amongst BBS
software so use a logon event if you have one, or use the method I
describe for Wildcat.
I don't run either PCBoard or Wildcat, so if there is a way for me to
write Klintonov to better support your software let me know and I'll
see what I can do.
This is the first program that I've written, and is released as
freeware. You may distribute this program provided that you keep
the files listed below intact, and in the archive or on the floppy
that you distribute it in. Files that should be in the archive:
KLINTON .EXE Executable program, Klintonov v2.1
KLINTON .DOC Klintonov Documentation
FILE_ID .DIZ Description File
DESC .SDI Description File
Compensation:
If you feel the need to compensate <g> me in some way for the efforts
I've put into this program, or the enjoyment you have gotten out of
it, by all means do so. I'll probably always need money since I
have 3 kids a wife and a dog.. And of course this computer habit
and a BBS... But what I really want is sample source code and
constructive suggestions. I'd also like to know if your using and
enjoying this program, perhaps you can send me mail or email and let
me know. Oh, and of course I'm always looking for all the Clinton
bashing Tags I can get my hands on <grin>.
Credits:
I'd like to thank the users of my BBS and friends for encouraging me
to learn programming. And I'd like to thank all the loyal Clinton
Bashers who have contributed to the collection of Tags used in this
program. Thanks also go to Wyatt Earp (Shane) for beta testing this
for me, he's been very patient as I blunder my way through
writing the code for Klintonov. I'd also like to thank Lionheart
(Randy Williams) who single handedly came up with a large part of
these Tags. Thanks Randy.. I told you I'd thank you in the credits
<grin>.
System Requirements:
This program should work fine on any IBM compatible computer running
any version of DOS or in a DOS window while running MS Windows 3.1,
Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Win95 or OS/2. However I've only tested
it on a 486sx-20, 486sx-25, 486dx2-50 and a 486dx2-66, with VGA
monitors and video cards running MS DOS 6.2 and MS Windows 3.1,
Windows for Workgroups and Win95.
Disclaimer:
I take no responsibility for any damage or problems to your computer
or anything else that may somehow or in any way result from
the usage of this program. Use it at your own risk.
Enjoy.

History:
KLINT21.ZIP
The only upgrade to this version of Klintonov is the addition of over
150 more tags to give a grand total of 350 Clinton Bashing Tags. So
my loyal Klintonov users, please give a few moments of LOUD disgust
towards our incredible Comander in Chief.
KLINT20.ZIP
Klintonov now uses MODE's of operation and common switches for easier
usage. Klintonov now has 190+ Clinton bashing tags. Support for
Wildcat and PCBoard BBS software. Improved support for VBBS BBS
software. Internal help and information screens rewritten and
formatted and add color. I've re-written much of the code to speed
up operation and make it easier to use.
KLINT13.ZIP
Cleaned up the random color generator to take up less code and also
make the colors more random. I also made an option for sysops to
disable the WWIV/VBBS color "6" if desired. I also added a bunch
more Tags, there are now more than 100 different Tags. I also added
the ability to "export" the tags to a file called KLINTON.TAG for
use in QWK mail readers or wherever. I reformatted the help screen
displays.
KLINT12.ZIP
Added a random color generator so as to draw more attention to
Klintonov when it's ran. And added support for WWIV v4.23's two
extra colors. Klintonov works fine in multi-node/multi-instance
situations
KLINT11.ZIP
Added a bunch of new Tags. Also re-formatted the display a little, a
little more pleasing to the eye and since it has one less display
line it should go by a little faster on a BBS.
KLINT10.ZIP
Users can now define the colors they want to use both locally and for
use on a BBS. I added a second help screen to show the colors
available for use. I also improved on the Random Generator, doubles
are not seen nearly as often.
KLINT06.ZIP (beta)
Klintonov can now display Color ANSI, Color ASCII and ASCII to the
com-port for use on a BBS. The color support is for WWIV and VBBS
BBS systems. I put the color and non-color versions together in
the same executable, you control it using switches.
KLINT05.ZIP (beta)
In the first version of this program I made a color version and a
mono version. The color one uses upper ASCII line characters
and colors and in my opinion looks much nicer. The mono version
uses all lower ASCII and no color at all.
