places in this WORK directory are routinely deleted. It MUST NOT be
the work directory for FeatherNet BBS.
The WORK directory MUST be at least 5 characters in length and MUST

If Running more than one node EACH node must have a separate WORK
directory.
SAMPLE Work Directory: C:\ULT\WORK
ITEM 3, 5
Enter a "HOLD" directory for UlTester to move non-virus infected
files into which have been rejected for one reason or another.
This may be the same as a bbs holding directory.
Example Hold Directory: C:\HOLD
ITEM 4, 6
Enter a "HOLD" directory for UlTester to move files into which
have been determined to contain a virus by the scan utility.
This directory should NOT be the same as the HOLD directory for other
rejected files.
Example Virus Hold Directory: C:\VIRHOLD
ITEM 5, 6
Enter the DOS path where the files PKZIP.EXE and PKUNZIP.EXE are
located. Enter ONLY THE PATH and NOT the complete path and name
of the files. ---- --- ----
For example if the files are located in your C:\ARCH directory
you should enter: C:\ARCH\
ITEM 6, 9
Enter a "Y" if you will accept files uploaded which are compressed
with PKZIP.EXE or an "N" if you do not want to accept these files.
All PKZIP archive files will be tested and scanned prior to being
moved to the appropriate HOLD directory if you do not desire to accept
files of this archive format.

---- --- ----
For example if the file is located in your C:\ARCH directory
you should enter: C:\ARCH\
ITEM 8, 9
Enter a "Y" if you will accept files uploaded which are compressed
with LHA.EXE or an "N" if you do not want to accept these files.
All LHA archive files will be tested and scanned prior to being
moved to the appropriate HOLD directory if you do not desire to accept
files of this archive format.
Note that self - extracting LHA archives which have the ".EXE" file
extension are also tested and scanned.
ITEM 9, 6
Enter the DOS path where the file ARJ.EXE is located.
Enter ONLY THE PATH and NOT the complete path and name of the file.
---- --- ----
For example if the file is located in your C:\ARCH directory
you should enter: C:\ARCH\
ITEM 10, 9
Enter a "Y" if you will accept files uploaded which are compressed
with ARJ.EXE or an "N" if you do not want to accept these files.
All ARJ archive files will be tested and scanned prior to being
moved to the appropriate HOLD directory if you do not desire to accept
files of this archive format.
Note that self - extracting ARJ archives which have the ".EXE" file
extension are also tested and scanned.
ITEM 11, 9
Enter the path and name of your GifTest file (Normally 'GIFTEST.EXE').
You MUST enter the COMPLETE PATH AND NAME of the GifTest program.
-------- ---- --- ----
Leave this line blank if you do not desire to test GIF uploads.
For example if the file is located in your C:\GIFTST directory and
the file name for the GIF tester is "GIFTEST.EXE" you should
enter: C:\GIFTST\GIFTEST.EXE
ITEM 12, 7
Enter a "Y" if you will accept GIF uploads.
All GIF files will be tested prior to being moved to the
appropriate HOLD directory if you do not desire to accept GIF files.
Note that the GifTest program must return a DOS ERRORLEVEL if a GIF
file is corrupt.
ITEM 13, 11
Enter the command line parameters to use with your GifTest program.
This allows you to take advantage of the GifTest program's features.
You may leave this line blank if you have no special command - line
parameters for the GifTest program.
EXAMPLE: /L:C:\FNET\GIFLOG
The "/L:C:\FNET\GIFLOG" tells GIFTEST to write a log file called
"giflog" to the "C:\FNET" directory. ULTester will add the
resolution from "GIFLOG" to the file description. Note that you MUST
have a file named "GIFLOG" in the bbs NODE directory if you want the
GIF resolution added to the file description.
ITEM 14, 10
Enter the path and name of your TDCHECK file (Normally 'TDCHECK.EXE').

ITEM 16, 9
Enter the COMPLETE PATH AND NAME of your VIRUS SCAN Utility.
-------- ---- --- ----
It doesn't matter which scan utility you use but McAfee's SCAN.EXE
is recommended.
For example if the file is located in your C:\VSCAN directory and
the file name of the scan utility is "SCAN.EXE" you should
enter: C:\VSCAN\SCAN.EXE
ITEM 17, 6
Enter the command line parameters to use with your Virus Scan program.
You may leave this line blank if you have no special command - line
parameters.
If using SCAN.EXE by McAfee this parameter is ignored and Ultester
uses its own command line.
ITEM 18, 12
Enter a "Y" if you want to swap UlTester to EMS, XMS or DISK when
performing file testing. UlTester uses about 40k of ram itself
and some archive utilities use almost 300k of ram when in the
archive mode. If your memory situation is critical and you have
enough EMS or XMS available it is recommended you DO SWAP UlTester
out when testing uploads.
IF you do not have EMS or XMS you can swap to disk. It will ONLY
take a couple seconds for UlTester to be swappped to disk when testing
archives. The exact SWAP method used is determined by UlTester.
Enter a "Y" to enable swapping or an "N" to disable swapping.
ITEM 19, 8
Enter the OLDEST file date you will accept. All files within an
uploaded archive are examined for the date stamp and if ANY file
has a date stamp OLDER than the date you enter the upload will be
rejected and moved to the holding directory. These files WILL be
scanned prior to being moved.
Enter the date in YYYYMM format. An example is : 198906
In this example all files OLDER than June, 1989 will be rejected.
ITEM 20, 5
Enter the MAXIMUM percentage of files in an archive you will accept
which are OLDER than the oldest file you allow. For example if 199001
(January 1990) is your old age limit and an archive has 20 files in it
and you allow 20% of them to exceed the old age restraints then no more
than 4 files in the archive can be older than 199001.
ITEM 21, 9
Enter a "Y" to accept files other than the archive formats supported.
If you answer "Y" to the above question files which are not of the
archive formats supported (ARJ, GIF, LHA, TD0 or ZIP ) would be Passed
and Scanned only. This will allow any file extension to be uploaded
to your bbs.
Enter an "N" to restrict uploads to the archive formats you have
chosen earlier in the configuration.
ITEM 22, 11
Enter the path and name of a file you desire to ADD to all uploaded
archives. This may be an Advertisement for your bbs or any file you
desire for that matter.

archives.
Example: C:\BBSAD\MYBBS.TXT
ITEM 23, 12
Enter the path and name of a text file which contains the names of
files you wish to be deleted from any archives uploaded to your
system. There must be only one name per line and they SHOULD be
entered in UPPER CASE. This is convenient for deleting unwanted
bbs advertisements and other "nuisance" files.
Enter the COMPLETE PATH AND NAME of the file.
Leave this line blank if no files are to be deleted from newly
uploaded archives.
Example: C:\ULT\DELFILES.TXT
ITEM 24, 8

format as the bbs DIRxx files
Enter the COMPLETE PATH AND NAME of the file.
Example: C:\ULT\HOLDESC.TXT
ITEM 25, 6
Enter the serial port address to use. If you will be using the
'STANDARD' Port Address for COM Port 1 or 2 then you
can skip this question.
Examples: &h3F8
&h2F8
ITEM 26, 11
Enter the IRQ number to use. If you will be using the
'STANDARD' IRQ for COM Port 1 or 2 then you can skip this
question. Example: 4 (for COM Port #1)
You can use any IRQ numbered 1 thru 7 on XT class machines and IRQ
numbers 1 thru 15 on AT and above class machines provided the irq
is not SHARED by another device. Each serial port MUST use a
unique IRQ.
Note that a cold boot is imminent if you specify an IRQ number which
cannot be used.
