Happy February 29th!
WHAT DOES LEAP DO?
LEAP.EXE is a program that goes into your Squish and *.MSG message bases and
changes any dates in the header as February 29 to February 28. In the event
you haven't experienced it, MSQ204 locks up when it attemps to read the
February 29 date in the message header. It does this for both Squish and
*.MSG message formats.
LEAP is written in Borland C by Alex Brodsky (1:247/191) and was whipped up
by him in a very short time on code based on another one of his utilities
called SCAIL.
HOW TO USE LEAP.EXE
Simply. Just run LEAP after Squish has finished tossing your mail bundles.
It will look in all areas listed in your AREAS.BBS file.
***** NOTE THIS WELL: Because this program was whipped up quickly, there is
no configurability and it is very basic. YOU MUST HAVE
AN AREAS.BBS FILE FOR IT TO WORK!!!!
BE SURE *all* squish areas are preceded with a '$' sign. Example:
$C:\Msg\Muffin Muffin
Again, this program will scan all your message bases and replace any
occurance of February 29 in the date header to February 28. If you don't
use Msq204, you probably don't need this program.
This program is guaranteed to do nothing but take up disk space. It has
been tested on various configurations and in these instances has performed
admirably. Use it at YOUR OWN RISK!
