Kermit for Microsoft Windows
----------------------------
Documentation
Version 0.60 - Prerelease
Author: Wayne Warthen
Compuserve: 73457,2401
GENERAL INFORMATION
-------------------
This is the first reasonable implementation of KERMIT as a true
MS Windows application that I am aware of. It includes all of the
KERMIT extensions except sliding windows.
As do most MS Windows program, cooperative multitasking is fully supported.
You may even have two copies of the program running at one time on
different serial ports.
Much of the code that implements the actual protocol is adapted from
"KERMIT A File Transfer Protocol" by Frank da Cruz.
I would appreciate any comments or bug reports you may have. Please
send them to me via my CompuServe ID listed above.

OPERATION
---------
This KERMIT program is a true MS Windows communications application. To
invoke the program, either start MS Windows and double click on
KERMIT.EXE or start MS Windows with KERMIT specified as the startup
application (ie. WIN KERMIT).
You must invoke the program from inside MS Windows or you will receive a
message indicating MS Windows is required.
The program itself follows all the standard rules for a MS Windows
application. Anyone familiar with Windows should have no problem figuring
out how to use the program.
NOTE: The program does not currently support automated modem dialing. In
order to connect to a remote service, you must issue the commands to dial
your modem manually. This must be done AFTER issuing the Session:Connect
command. The Connect command simply connects you to the modem itself.
