The Thule people brought a sophisticated technology from Alaska for hunting sea mammals. Clockwise from the upper left: a bone harpoon head for hunting large whales; three smaller harpoon heads and a lance for hunting smaller sea mammals; an ivory toggle, stopper and mending disc for use with a float made from an inflated seal skin; a trace buckle for a dog harness; and a pair of ivory snow goggles to prevent snow blindness while hunting on the spring ice.
