People always seem to be looking for a better version of vi for the PC.
Here's an interesting version, with many features of vi combined with
some emacs features.
Submitter Peter Ruczynski says:
Here is a pc version of the vile editor.
Vile is vi like emacs. It is a vi copy and was born from a version of
micro emacs, thereby giving it some emacs qualities such as multiple
buffers, windows and keyboard macros. This is not a vi clone, there
are quite a few things which won't work with vile that will with vi.
Vile does not have a map command, for instance.
This version of vile runs on ibmpcs and compatibles under the MSDOS
operating system, it also supports a 50 line vga mode (see readme file
on how to change screen modes).
