  3. I have updated the earth map to reflect the /c option in the newer
  4. versions of Imperium.  I know it works with 3.49w, and should work
  5. with v. Any earlier versions you will have trouble.  Any later 
  6. versions is anybodys guess.  I also used the Imperium.cfg file from
  7. version 3.49w for this release.  I will update this again when
  8. version 3.50 is released.
  9. --------------------Notes from Version 1.0------------------------------
  10. This file is a 625 X 450 text file map of the Earth intended for use
  11. with the door game Imperium version 3.49r or later.  Many thanks to
  12. Christopher King for the original blank world map file (which saved me
  13. some editing).  This file represents many many hours of labor typing
  14. away at my keyboard.  I had to edit every mountain, swamp, forest, 
  15. et. al. BY HAND.  My source was the National Geographic relief map
  16. of the earth, and a Rand McNally Universal World Atlas.  Many of the
  17. forests, jungles, hills, etc. were rough guesses, and I don't claim
  18. this map is anywhere near accurate enough to please people on other
  19. continents.  I made a lot of guesses as to where forests were in 
  20. particular.  If you think it is wrong, by all means, change it.
  21. This map was set up around a World War 2 theme, so some of the city
  22. names may be outdated, though I took the liberty of calling Lenningrad
  23. St. Petersburg.  Overall, I think that this map is very playable, and
  24. is a decent representation of the earth.  Included in this ZIP file
  25. are the following files:
  26.         EARTH.MAP -- The earth map text file.
  27.         README    -- This file you are reading.
  28.         IMPERIUM.CFG -- This file is set up to run the WWII game.
  29.         IMPORTAN.DOC -- This file has some crucial notes on the
  30.                      setup using this map.
  31.         CITY.INP  -- This file contains a list of the 400 cities included
  32.                      on the map, and their X,Y locations.

  36. BBS and leave me a note.  i'd be glad to hear feedback.  I will be
  37. periodically updating the world map in order to fix any geographic errors
  38. I find out about, and to keep it compattible with newer Imperium versions.
