With its brightly colored and unusually shaped blooms, pocketbook flower is one of the most stunning gift plants.
Light
Place in medium (bright) light. Avoid full sun, which causes leaf burn.
Water
Allow soil surface to dry out between thorough waterings. Never allow soil around roots to dry out. Because blossoms spot easily, avoid getting water on them.
Temperature
Maintain temperatures of 55 to 65 degrees, if possible. Tolerates average temperatures. Cool temperatures can extend bloom.
Comments
Discard most types after bloom (some shrub species can be carried over from year to year). Start fresh with seed each spring. Feed while young, but stop during bloom. Pinch during initial growth to create bushy plant.
