Lily-of-the-Nile is admired for its lovely display of spherical flower clusters above strap-like leaves.
Light
Place in high light (full sun) during winter and medium (bright) light the rest of the year. Tolerates low light.
Water
Keep soil evenly moist except during the dormancy that follows flowering; then, keep soil barely moist. Never allow soil to dry out.
Temperature
Maintain temperatures of no higher than low 70s during day and in 50s at night. Tolerates even lower than 50 degrees.
Comments
Plant in a large, deep tub to prevent roots from breaking pot. Because plant likes being pot-bound, keep in same pot for years. Feed every 14 days with mild solution after flower stem appears. Propagate by seed anytime or by dividing the fleshy roots in February or March.
