African violet forms delightful clusters of flowers above a green rosette of hairy leaves.
Light
Expose to medium (bright indirect) light. Avoid full sun. Grows well if under artificial light 14 to 18 hours per day.
Water
Keep soil moist. Use tepid water; cold water spots leaves. Raise humidity.
Temperature
Maintain high temperatures for best growth. Tolerates average temperatures. Avoid cold drafts.
Comments
Plant in shallow plastic pot with African violet mix. Fertilize regularly with dilute solution. Remove spent flowers and yellow leaves. Propagate by division when the crown forms more than one plant, or by leaf cuttings or seed.
