Lamb's ear is very hardy; it survives well in hot, dry climates. It can be planted from seed, and needs a well-drained soil. Cut the plant back when it begins to spread.
Silvery white with velvety foliage, lamb's ear was once used to bandage wounds. It is very popular with bees.
