One of the most interesting pieces among the ruins is that of the epigraph inscribed on a Roman bath. It reads as follows: "A gift from the peoples of @Aperlae,@ the parliament and the other cities of the union to Emperor Titus". The remains of the harbor are under water today. Even the remains of Bat├╜kkent (the submerged city) are believed to have been a part of Simena at some point in time.
