Changes in SilkMouse 3.1
========================
March 16, 1993
1. SilkMouse is no longer shareware, but freeware. Everyone can now save
their customized default settings; there is no more "unregistered"
version. I accept but no longer solicit payment for this work; all
may use it free from charge and free from guilt. Those who do wish to
make some sort of contribution may do so via GEnie gift of time, or
with a check made out to Mark Slagell (not SilkWare), sent to 609
Church Street, St. Johns, MI 48879.
2. The screen saver is new from the ground up. The redesign allows it to
work without ever masking any interrupts. Meddling with interrupts is
a common cause of conflicts for screen savers, and can account for
difficulties in serial transmissions and the like. Early reports from
a few users indicate the new SilkMouse saver can harmonize with
difficult combinations of resident utilities and aftermarket hardware.
3. In mono, the saver can now dim and blank in much the same way it does
in color. To make this possible, a screenful of memory is reserved
whenever a mono monitor is detected during bootup. This can be
disabled in order to save some memory.
4. It is now easier to lock the screen after an application runs. You no
longer need to have both buttons down immediately. Just hold the
right button as you normally would to pause, then click with the left.
5. Minor bugfix: the CPX no longer resets the resolution correction limit
to "none" whenever it runs. This only affected users of TT high res
and some custom display hardware.
6. Several dialog buttons in SMC.ACC have been enlarged.
