  5. Thank you for trying AprCalc 3.0!  Please take a moment
  6. to read this brief message before the program is installed.
  7.  
  8. AprCalc is an amortization calculator that allows you to 
  9. investigate various "what-if" scenarios quickly and easily.
  10. The four variables in a mortgage loan are the amount
  11. financed, the term, the interest rate, and the payment;
  12. setting any three of these automatically determines the 
  13. value of the fourth.  Typically, you would enter a value 
  14. for each of the three known variables, and then click the
  15. button corresponding to the variable to be calculated.
  16.  
  17. AprCalc also automatically amortizes loans, and provides
  18. the ability to save scenarios to disk and print hardcopies.
  19. Prepayments to principal can be entered for any payment, 
  20. and the effect on the amortization observed.  You can also 
  21. determine how much in prepayments would be necessary
  22. to reduce a loan to a given number of payments.  Support
  23. for ARMs (Adjustable Rate Mortgages) and accelerated
  24. "biweekly" loan programs is also provided.  Breakeven
  25. analysis lets you decide when and if it makes sense to
  26. purchase discount points.  An extensive Windows Help
  27. system is provided.

  29. New features in this version include the ability to
  30. automatically save your scenario files, infinite 
  31. undo/redo capability, notes that can be attached to each
  32. payment, and more control over the printout appearance.

  34. As a 32-bit program, AprCalc 3.0 can run on any 32-bit
  35. Windows operating system (such as Windows 95,
  36. Windows 98, and Windows NT 4).  For those using 
  37. Windows 3.X, our final 16-bit version, "AprCalc 2.2", is
  38. still available on our web site for a limited time.

  40. Please note that AprCalc 3.0 uses advanced features of
  41. the Microsoft Windows operating system that may require
  42. you to obtain the latest versions of certain system files
  43. (called "DLLs").  If you have problems getting AprCalc to
  44. run, or encounter problems that appear related to this

  46. error message you get, and we will do our best to resolve
  47. the problem for you.
