  93. This package contains BOOT'R (TM) by Stevenson Technical Services, Inc.
  94. (STSI).  This document contains only a brief description of the package
  95. and its features, along with instructions for its installation.  Quite
  96. detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived
  97. form, and is more easily read after installation.

  99. BOOT'R allows the management of multiple configurations on a single
  100. machine. BOOT'R can modify the CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, and more.
  101. Modify up to 5 files for each configuration.  Useful for changing files
  102. such as NET.CFG too!  Ideal for creating custom configurations for
  103. memory-hungry games.  Easy to use push-button interface with mouse
  104. support!  Online reference tools are included for the CONFIG.SYS,
  105. AUTOEXEC.BAT, and NET.CFG files.

  107. BOOT'R is a shareware program. You may use it for up to 2 weeks,
  108. without charge (see BOOTR.DOC for more details).  If you like the
  109. program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you

  144. ===== Installation =====================================
  145.  
  146. The installation procedure for BOOT'R is quite simple.  The package
  147. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  148. You will need about 1 megabyte of available disk space on the hard drive
  149. on which you plan to install BOOT'R.
  150.  
  151. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received BOOT'R.
  152.  
  153.  
  154. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  155.  
  156. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  157.  
  158. 1. Place BOOT'R distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  159.    diskette drive.
  160.  
  161. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  162.    For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  163.    the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  164.  
  165. 3. Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  166.    will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
  167.    actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program will
  168.    ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the BOOT'R
  169.    files to that directory.  If you received BOOT'R on two
  170.    diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette drive
  171.    when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  172.    program will install executable programs and documentation in
  173.    other directories of your choice.

  176. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  177.  
  178. If you downloaded BOOT'R from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  179. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  180. following steps.
  181.  
  182. 1. Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  183.    directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this varies,
  184.    depending on the form in which you received the package. In all
  185.    likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means that you
  186.    already have the necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step.
  187.    If not, you should be able to obtain directions for this from the
  188.    same source from which you received the package.
  189.  
  190. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  191.    example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted the
  192.    files is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS command,
  193.    "c:\tempdir\install".

  204. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed the program,

  211. (filename extension "doc") which have been installed.  In particular,
  212. read at least the "Installation" section of the file BOOTR.DOC. That
