- He's right. There are a few bad egg teachers, but the vast majority are
- good, really do care, and are just as frustrated (or even more so) than
- the rest of us. It's the SYSTEM that's broken.
- I feel we need to have a school system where the teachers are far
- higher in the decision-making hierarchy than they are now. The
- administration should be in more of a "support staff" role, to coordinate
- the work of the teachers and help provide the materials and resources
- (including a decent, I-can-survive-on-this salary) they need to help
- students learn. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening any time soon
- unless the parents and other involved citizens raise enough of a fuss with
- the right people in the right way.
