  16. Those are most likely herpetic vessicles (are they initially fluid-
  17. filled bumps that rupture and leave a little crater?), caused by
  18. the herpes simplex virus.  I believe acyclovir is helpful for these
  19. but I doubt you could talk someone into prescribing this to be taken
  20. prophylactically.
