  33. I wasn't talking about harvesting alone. I'm talking about GROWING
  34. the stuff, and the massive amounts of (oil-based) chemicals required.
  35. Also, corn growing has been compared to topsoil stripmining because
  36. the chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides leave no soil
  37. structure to hold the soil together to prevent erosion, and to
  38. decompose plant matter into humus.
