- Hi there!
-
- Because of _severe_ disk reorganizations, I ran into this problem. I'm
- running Stacker, and have stacked most of my hard drive leaving only a
- few Mb for Windows permanent swap file. I used to have the temp variable
- to point to the unstacked disk as well, and had no problems with 32-bit
- disk access (even when I had a SCSI disk as a secondary disk...)
-
- Now, however, I'd need to set temp to the stacked disk. When I do this,
- and have the 32-bit DA on, Windows comlaints about "unable to read from
- drive C" sometimes qith QEMM 6.00, and constantly with UMB_DRVR 5.22. If
- I disable the 32-bit DA, everything goes fine.
-
- Now, could anybody elaborate exactly _when_ does Windows use this 32-bit
- disk access, and why does a Stacker drive not qualify (not ST506
- compatible?). I'd be most interested in hearing your answers! Thanks.
