  17. To answer your question concerning the Motorola Alphanumeric pager
  18. I'll make a couple assumptions; the pager is a PMR2000, and your
  19. service is a for-profit company. BTW - I am not an Motorola empployee.

  21. The PMR2000 has three small holes on the bottom of the unit that look
  22. like contacts for something ... well the PMR2000 has a couple optional
  23. devices; a printer, and charger, and a printer charger. As to which
  24. does what I cannot help you, but I am confident that someone at the
  25. paging company can; if its a local "Ma and Pa" company you are likely
  26. not to get any help, but if its a larger service (ie: Bell Operating
  27. Co like PacTel, Bell Atlantic, NYNEX, etc) or one of the larger
  28. private services like MetroComm, PageNet or even the national company
  29. called SkyTel (MTel) you can expect that *someone* knows how the thing
  30. works.

  32. If you still are not satisfied I would snag the local yellow pages (or
  33. OneBook) and find the nearest MOTOROLA SALES office (not a dealer).

  37. A long time ago I helped some people at a non-profit agency in Glen
  38. Burnie, MD called Volunteers for Medical Engineering (VME) with
  39. similar, but unique challenges ... haven't spoken with anyone since
  40. moving away.  Again, no promises.

  42. Also, your friends that have PC's and modems can alphanumerically page
  43. you as well using commercial software; I have a *demo* copy for ONE
  44. alpha USER and ONE paging service I'd be happy to pass on.
