  15. There were indeed shocks (actually they were dampers) on the bat
  16. the only differance between then and now is that the bat only
  17. had one per side instead of 4 on the current design
  18.  
  19. The idea of the dampers is that they would take out high
  20. frequency changes in swing, but still allow the slow swings
  21. that were supposed to be designed into the ride.
