THERAPEUTIC INFORMATION ETHERAPEUTIC FLOWSHEET: This is where the patient's input (including fluids, electrolytes, and insulin) and output are recorded. It is updated every half hour. FFLUIDS: Use this option to start or stop IV fluids. GDRUGS: Use this option to start or stop the administration of a drug. HNASOGASTRIC TUBE: Use this option to insert or remove an NG tube. IFOLEY CATHETER: Use this option to insert or remove a foley catheter. JIV: Use this option to insert or remove an IV catheter. KCHEST X-RAYS: Use this option either to order a film (which takes about 30 minutes to return), or to view a film already taken. ..page DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION ADIAGNOSTIC FLOWSHEET: This is where your lab results are recorded, generally about 30 minutes after being drawn. Vital signs and urine dipsticks appear automatically--everything else must be ordered separately. BVITAL SIGNS AND PHYSICAL EXAM: Vital signs and a brief physical exam, which are updated every minute, are found here. CORDER LABS: This option allows you to order laboratory tests. Labs, which take about 30 minutes to return, are recorded on the diagnostic flowsheet (see above). DEKG: Here you can find the present EKG, which is updated every minute. ..page ADVANCE TIME At any point in the simulation you may magically advance the simulated time (located in the upper right hand corner of the screen). It is generally desirable to utilize this option once you have accomplished your therapeutic tasks and evaluated the situation. Remember that any lab you order will not arrive until the next half-hour. ..page END GAME The simulation ends if any of the following occur: a) the alloted 8 hours of computer time elapse b) your patient dies c) you choose to end the simulation When one of these occur, you will see the final diagnostic flowsheet, and will then receive an assessment. If you choose to end the simulation before 4 hours have elapsed, you will not receive an assessment.
