  18. Yes, it is true.  This will be a scaled down version of the e current
  19. EMPLANT hardware.  It will include the necessary hardware for remapping
  20. I/O (the major thing needed for emulating MAC/IBM/etc hardware), the
  21. serial/AppleTalk support, and a SCSI interface via a standard DB25
  22. connector.  The unit will be a PCMCIA card for the A600/A1200.  As you
  23. can imagine, it is not the normal size since there will two 8 pin
  24. min-din connectors (Apple's serial ports) and the DB25 SCSI connector. 
  25. The unit will plug into the PCMCIA slot and sit flat on the desk along
  26. side the computer.  Fortunately, the A600 and A1200 use the same height
  27. PCMCIA connectors.

  29. There will be NO sockets for dumping ROMs.  There will be another unit
  30. (sold seperately) that attaches to the parallel port solely used for
  31. dumpinping ROMs.  If you already own the computer that you are intending
  32. to emulate with EMPLANT, you can use the software provided for the real
  33. machine to dump the ROM image to disk.  Those customers would not need
  34. the adapter.

  36. Projected retail price is $299 which includes dual serial ports, SCSI
  37. interface, and the MAC II/x/cx emulation module.

  39. We will be going to F.C.C. sometime in the next 60 days for approval, and
  40. units should be shipping with 30 days from the time of approval.

  42. There will be only one model available for PCMCIA cards, unlike the four
  43. different models available as Zorro II/III cards.
