I have received a request to post a message anonymously, and am
honoring it.  I normally simply comply with these requests, without up
front comments (and certainly without any kind of editing).  There has
been some discussion on some of the newsgroups about anonymous
postings of late, and I wanted to make clear my position.  I have no
problem with anonymous posts, and will extend this courtesy as time
and resources permit upon request.  For those who are offended by this
practice, I will always preceed such postings with "Anon:" (as above).
Simply place this in your kill file, or skip such subjects, if this
offends you.

I request that anonymous posters sign their posts with some sort of
pseudonym, to keep them separate from me.  This has been done below
(and raises questions about the readership of the Hardy boys).  I make
no demand for consistency of pseudonyms, or anything else for that
matter.

I will henceforth, unless there are extenuating circumstances, simply
post this stuff without comment.  Please be careful in your
attributions; this may be difficult, but I do request the courtesy.

Hidden hypnosis is definitely possible.  It is not necessary to
receive someones (the subjects) overt permission to hypnotize
them.  In fact, you could following the following lines when
talking to a friend and see if you can induce trance: (spoken
to subject): "You know, many people dont know what trance is.
When you become hypnotized you actually become very aware of
your physical condition.  You now become conscious of how your
feet feel in their shoes, and your shoes on the ground ..." (notice
the imbedded command: YOU NOW BECOME).  You can continue to
have them focus on what they are feeling, slowly going through
their body, and at some point synchronize your breathing with
theirs (quite important), and slow your beathing down.  "You notice
that as you become conscious of your body, you become more peaceful
and with each breath you become more relaxed" ... and into
"you are so relaxed you find your eyelids becomming heavy and
closing".  You started with what appeared to be an explanation
of what the sensations were, moved into them experiencing the
sensations, and then into a relaxational induction.  You need to
be smooth and pace yourself on this one ..

If you have access to it, there was a Montel Willams show titled
"Hypnosis and Seduction".  The two guests were Marshall Sylver
(A personal friend) and Ross Jeffries.  Ross wrote a book titled
(I may be a little imprecise) "How to get any woman you desire
into bed".  On the show, and I believe in the book, he showed a
reasonably covert method of inducing trance on 'his date'.  At
least for the purpose of the show, she did go into trance.  (The
guy is somewhat of a slime ball but did make >$50,000 from the
sale of the book last year.)
