- From the glossary of the Amiga Hardware Reference Manual:
-
- Sprite Easily movable graphics object that is produced by one of the eight
- sprite DMA channels and is independent of the playfield display.
-
- There is a great amount of detail on sprites, the Copper, and Blitter in
- this book. *Very* basically it is a graphics object that has hardware
- devoted to it. This hardware has its own special section of memory and
- and pre-empt CPU operations. This is significantly different than Mac
- or PC set-ups and allows a M 68000 to do animation and sound that my ci
- is envious of (I watch her drool).
- Too bad the fantastic software for the Mac can't be combined with the
- beautiful architecture of the Amiga.
-
- Is this enough of an answer?

- I would think it silly to presume that I speak for the University of Kansas.
- But then again, you don't know me.
