- The Catalina yes, but it was a "slow boat", no pun intended. They were
- mostly armed recce aircraft. As to the P-38, it's a good airframe for the
- task, but I personally hadn't heard of that before... I'll dig.
- The P-61 was a very late entry into the war, and not really considered
- operational on the level of the others. Still, although a late entry, it was
- still quite inferior to the Mosquito in general use as a fighter, although
- it's power would have make it a great tactical night bomber.
