- Just found the latest SBOS beta release on the Gravis BBS. I don't have much
- time to upload it to epas yet, but will do so later this evening if nobody
- beats me to it. :) (at 2400, the 185k file still takes 15 minutes to u/l.. :( )
-
- From my brief experiments with this new sbos, it sounds better, though a
- few people on the bbs claimed that v1.22 is still better... It uses a whole
- new set of *.sbs patches and this time the sbosdrv is loaded as a device
- driver. It's supposed to work with unreal, and testing with Ultima 7 showed
- a HUGE gain in speed over the previous two versions. Still slightly slower
- than on a regular SB, but heck, at least U7 is PLAYABLE on my 386/25 now...
- The digitised voices sound a bit softer also...
-
- Also tried Fate of Atlantis, and it seems to sound better. Could be psycho-
- logical though :) (euphoria at finally being able to play U7 at an acceptable
- speed again.. ;)
-
- Oh yeah, the file is called GUS0009.ZIP...
-
- Happy GUSsing!
- Gab.

- This is a sig. This is only a sig. What the heck did you think it was anyway?
-
- Flames to /dev/null. Nonsense to gting@sfu.ca.
- Merry Christmas!
