- Did anyone out there see the Doogie Houser TV program last week?
- (For those of you not familiar with the program, Doogie is a genius
- kid who became a medical doctor at the age of 16, although he's a
- little older now since the program's been on a few years. In
- addition, he speaks 7 languages, and knows just about everything.
- Yeah, just your typical 16 year old kid!)
-
- Anyway, Dr. Doogie also apparently knows ASL, and he meets and
- dates a young deaf woman. Since he's a doctor, he tells her about
- cochlear implants, and she is tested. Unfortunately, she is not a
- good candidate for the surgury. Doogie wants her to try anyway,
- and they fight. Doogie's friend Vinny brings them back together,
- and Vinny (who is a filmaker) makes a silent movie starring the
- three of them.
-
- I thought it was interesting that this show was the same week that
- Sixty Minutes did THEIR show on implants. Did any one else see
- this?
