- Well I can say that I've had the same problem down here in the LA area with
- CHP also. I've punched in every CHP freq I can find and never seem to hear
- the mobile ones, only dispatch, *UNLESS* they are VERY close (2-3 miles).
-
- The scanner stops on the mobile extender freq sometimes but they're most weak
- signals and obviously from a handheld, low power etc...
-
- It's interesting though because I'm sure the cars put out 50+ watts, or so,
- and should be easy enough to hear on the input freq. So what gives?
-
- Not sure why this is going on but if I ever hear a mobile unit I mind my P's
- and Q's becuase I know they're around somewhere close! :-)
