- Some more historical trivia
- 1) John Quincy Adams returned to House of Representatives after serving as
- President. He was a congressman for about twenty years, and actually died
- in the House chamber, I believe.
- 2) William Howard Taft, the George Bush of the early twentieth century, became
- Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after serving as President.
- 3) ...as did Charles Evans Hughes, who ran unsuccessfully againt Wilson in 1914.
- (He was also the last presidential candidate with a beard.)
