- In response to a question about Tahoe for oldsters (like me :-) John
- Fereira recommended a dinner cruise. I would second this, as well as
- the daytime Emerald Bay cruise. *HOWEVER* I must also add the
- following from the little "tahoe-ideas" file that I send out:
-
- My number one recommendation is take a cruise on the Woodwind.
- This is a 41-foot sailing trimaran that takes 1-to-2 hour
- sails out into the Lake, some 20 or so people at a time. They
- also have a champagne sunset cruise that is great. My wife
- and I take a sail (or two, or three ...) just about every time
- we get up there. They sail from Zephyr Cove (off Highway 50
- on the Nevada side, just north of the Round Hill Mall); this
- is the same place that the M. S. Dixie sails from (one of them
- big motorboats :-). The beach at Zephyr Cove is nice for
- picnics as well, by the way. The owner/operator of the
- Woodwind is named Joel Morgan, and the reservations number is
- 702-588-3000. If you do take a cruise, say "hi" to Joel for
- me -- I told him about "netnews" once, but I don't think he
- really visualized what it is; it'd be fun to show him how real
- it is! [As an aside, I have no interest whatsoever in the
- Woodwind other than LOVING it -- this is NOT a paid
- advertisement!]
-
- I only hope that I can spend some of my 70's on the Woodwind!!! :-)

- PS: John also recommends driving around the Lake -- seconded as well,
- and there are many GREAT picnic spots on the trip.
