- Some months ago we purchased several _INTERNAL_ Chinon CD-ROM drives for
- use in DOS computers. These went to locations that were a little dusty.
- We soon started having problems with junk on the laser lense. Sometimes
- they would only run a few minutes after cleaning, sometimes a few days. We
- have replaced all of those drives now. The _EXTERNAL_ Chinon drives have
- been fine.
-
- Our assumption is that the fan in the DOS box pulled dust right into to
- drive and there were no baffles to direct air around the sensor.
