  8.       The following enhancements have been made in this revision:
  9.       ------------------------------------------------------------

  11. 1) Support has been added for the Hercules monochrome graphics adapter.
  12.  
  13. 2) Missile flight animation and cockpit instrument animation are now much 
  14.    smoother on fast machines (AT & 386).
  15.  
  16. 3) Install/De-install has been removed in favor of a "key disk" system for
  17.    use on hard disks.  This allows for multiple installs and simpler media
  18.    transfers (5.25" to 3.5", etc.).  This also allows for running from a 
  19.    backup floppy that you make yourself.

  23.      The following problems have been addressed by this revision:

  26. 1) Roster corruption when greater than 25,000 points are scored will no 
  27.    longer occur.
  28.  
  29. 2) Joystick routines have been improved.  Previous problems with certain
  30.    multi-io cards and clone systems have been eliminated.
  31.  
  32. 3) Hangs and screen garbage when switching disks on single-floppy systems
  33.    should no longer occur.
  34.  
  35. 4) EGA and Tandy graphics modes no longer use the vertical blank interrupt.
  36.    For Tandy users, this means you can now use Zucker-brand hard drives.
  37.    Also, owners of certain EGA cards (and VGA cards) that do not support this 
  38.    interrupt will now be able to run correctly in EGA mode.

  40. 5) Users of extremely fast (e.g. Compaq 386/20 w/VGA) machines will no longer 
  41.    see flicker in view-window area.
  42.  
  43. 6) The Hind is no longer difficult to lock on to in CGA versions.
  44.  
  45. 7) The flare and chaff symbols are no longer backwards in the cockpit 
  46.    display on EGA and TANDY.

  49.    The following problems have been addressed by previous revisions:

  52. 1) Program lock-up when running in CGA mode on some machines has been fixed.
  53.  
  54. 2) Support now exists for certain joystick/computer combinations that did
  55.    not function correctly before.
  56.  
  57. 3) The program will now work properly on a TANDY 1000-TX with the 768K
  58.    memory option installed.
  59.  
  60. 4) All versions of TANDY DOS (up to 3.2) are now supported.

  64.                             Other Issues
  65.                             ------------
  66. 1) Hercules monochrome mode will work with real Hercules brand cards and
  67.    also those that are 100% compatible down to the register level.  Certain
  68.    multiple display mode cards that offer Hercules emulation along with
  69.    CGA and EGA modes are not truly compatible and will not work with
  70.    Gunship in monochrome mode.  The Quadram UltraVGA and the ATI Wonder 
  71.    card are two that we know of that have this problem.  For owners of 
  72.    these cards we recommend using them in their color modes (CGA or EGA).

  74. 2) If you are experiencing a flashing display in the out-the-cockpit window 
  75.    display area and you are using a multi-sync type monitor on an EGA or VGA
  76.    card, try configuring the card for an EGA monitor.  Some of these cards
  77.    do not properly support flipping of the visible display page when
  78.    configured for a multi-sync monitor.  Merely reconfiguring the card for
  79.    an EGA monitor will usually cure the problem.
