  2.    Switches: Alphabetical list of switches 
  3.  
  4.    @filename Use this switch when you want to use more than 150
  5.    characters on the Ghost command line. This switch specifies the path
  6.    and file name of a text file that has each switch on a separate line.
  7.    The text file can include any Symantec Ghost command-line switch
  8.    except -afile and -dfile. Not available in Norton Ghost 2001.
  9.    @MCsessionname  Connect  to  Multicast  sessionname.  See the document
  10.    Switches: Cloning.
  11.    @MTx Designates which tape device to use (0 through n).
  12.    -#E=filename.ENV   Designates  the  filename  of  your  ENV  file  for
  13.    registration purposes.
  14.    -AFILE=path Diagnostics Override default abort log file with path.
  15.    -AUTO Image file Automatically names spanned dump files.
  16.    -BATCH  User  intervention  Prevents abort messages that wait for user
  17.    acknowledgement.
  18.    Prior to Ghost version 4.0a, "batch mode" refers to running Ghost as a
  19.    command-line  entry within a batch file. Not available in Norton Ghost
  20.    2001, 2002, or 2003.
  21.    -BFC=x  Bad  disk  Specifies the number of bad sectors (blocks) on the
  22.    destination disk that will cause Ghost to stop the cloning operation.
  23.    The  default  value  is 500. That is, when you do not use this switch,
  24.    Ghost  ignores  up to 499 bad sectors that it encounters while writing
  25.    an  image  to  a  disk or partition. If Ghost detects 500 bad sectors,
  26.    Ghost stops the cloning operation.
  27.    In  Ghost  6.0 and later versions, this switch also creates a log file
  28.    of the bad sectors found.
  29.    -BLIND  Batch  mode  processing  Disables  the  UI  while performing a
  30.    command line specified clone operation. Symantec Ghost 8.0
  31.    -BLKSZE=x  Image  file Sets the block size to x K for writing to image
  32.    files. Removed from Symantec Ghost 8.0.
  33.    -BOOTCD  CD-R  and CD-RW drives When using Ghost to save an image file
  34.    directly  to  a CD writer, this switch makes the CD bootable. For this
  35.    switch  to  work, put a bootable floppy disk in drive A before running
  36.    Ghost.  If this switch is untitled and the switch -SURE is used, Ghost
  37.    creates a nonbootable CD instead.
  38.    -BUFFERSIZE=x Network This switch sets the size of the buffer for read
  39.    and  write  operations. The switch is useful only when connecting to a
  40.    network  drive by means of Ghost Multicast, Ghost Console, or a mapped
  41.    network  drive.  Because  these  features  are  not  available  in the
  42.    consumer  versions of Ghost, such as Norton Ghost 2002, these switches
  43.    will  have  no  effect  when  used  with Ghostpe.exe. See the document
  44.    Switches: -SLOWFILE and -BUFFERSIZE.
  45.    -CHKIMG,filename  Image verification Checks the integrity of the image
  46.    file that is indicated by the filename.
  47.    -CNS  Image  file When spanning an image over more than one file, this
  48.    switch  forces  Ghost to use the older naming convention for the image
  49.    files.
  50.    -CRC32 Image verification Extract and compare file lists from images.
  51.    -CRCIGNORE  Image  verification  Allows you to restore dump files that
  52.    contain some corrupted files.
  53.    -CVTAREA  FAT partitions When you use Ghost to create an image file of
  54.    a  FAT32 partition or write an image of a FAT32 partition to a disk or
  55.    partition,  this switch creates a cvtarea file. This file is used as a
  56.    placeholder  for  the  File  Allocation  Table  (FAT)  as  a  means of
  57.    preventing fragmentation of the FAT.
  58.    The  switch  operates  in a similar manner to the cvtarea program that
  59.    Microsoft  provides  in  Deploy.cab on the Windows XP installation CD.

  62.    The  file  is  created  in  the  root  directory of the partition when
  63.    writing a partition image or disk image to the disk drive. It is saved
  64.    in  a  single  contiguous  space  on  the  disk. The maximum size is 4
  65.    gigabytes  (GB).  If the file is larger than 4 GB, Ghost truncates the
  66.    file to 4 GB.
  67.    Consult  your  Symantec  Ghost Implementation Guide for information on
  68.    the syntax and default settings. Symantec Ghost 7.5 and later.
  69.    Norton Ghost 2003
  70.    -DD Diagnostics Dump disk metrics to GHSTSTAT.DMP.
  71.    -DFILE=path  Diagnostics Override default dump log file with path (see
  72.    -DD).
  73.    -DI Diagnostics Display diagnostics.
  74.    -DL=x  Drive  detection  Specifies  the  highest  slot  for fixed disk
  75.    detection. Use this switch in the following circumstances:
  76.      * When  Ghost  does  not  detect a fixed disk. Use the -DL switch to
  77.        force  Ghost  to  detect  fixed  disks that are on higher numbered
  78.        slots. To search all slots, use ghost -DL=255
  79.      * When Ghost stops responding immediately after starting Ghost. This
  80.        might  be  due  to problems with higher slot numbers. Use -DL with
  81.        values  less  then  146. The lowest usable value would be 127 plus
  82.        the  number  of  physical drives on the computer. For instance, if
  83.        the computer has 2 drives, the command would be: ghost -DL=129.
  84.  
  85.    -DLIST=drives Drive detection Specifies a list of drives to search for
  86.    span  files. If a span file cannot be found, then the drive letters in
  87.    dlist are substituted one by one to look for the file on other drives.
  88.    For  example, the command ghost -dlist=CDEFG instructs Norton Ghost to
  89.    look for files on C, D, E, F, and G drives. The path remains the same.

  91.    Norton Ghost 2003
  92.    DST  -Clone  Used  as  a parameter with the -CLONE switch. Defines the
  93.    location  of  the  destination partition, disk, or image file. See the
  94.    document Switches: Cloning.
  95.    -FATLIMIT  FAT  partitions Prevents Ghost from resizing FAT partitions
  96.    to larger than 2 GB.
  97.    -F32 FAT partitions Converts a partition from FAT 16 to FAT 32.
  98.    -F64 FAT partitions Allow 64 KB cluster size.
  99.    -FCR Image verification Creates a CRC file, Ghost.crc, while making an
  100.    image  file.  This is the same CRC file that is created when using one
  101.    of the create actions on the -CRC32 switch.
  102.    -FDC  Forces  Ghost  to check for a dongle. In Ghost versions prior to
  103.    2.09,  Ghost automatically checked for a dongle. Removed from Symantec
  104.    Ghost 8.0
  105.    -FDSP  Windows  2000  Force  Disk  Signature  Preserve. Use to resolve
  106.    bootup  failures  after  cloning  a  disk  on a Windows 2000 computer,
  107.    especially when the disk and controller are the same in the source and
  108.    destination   computers,   but  the  partition  sizes  or  layout  are
  109.    different.  This  switch  prevents  Ghost from automatically forcing a
  110.    disk  initialization,  which  Ghost  does  by  default  when imaging a
  111.    Windows 2000 disk. 
  112.    -FDSZ Windows 2000 Force Disk Signature to zero. Use to resolve bootup
  113.    failures  after  cloning  a  partition  on  a  Windows  2000 computer,
  114.    especially when the disk and controller are the same in the source and
  115.    destination   computers,   but  the  partition  sizes  or  layout  are
  116.    different.   This   switch   configures   Ghost   to   force   a  disk
  117.    initialization.
  118.    -FEMAX  When Ghost creates an extended partition during a Disk-to-Disk
  119.    or  Image-to-Disk  operation,  the  extended  partition  takes  up all
  120.    remaining free space. Symantec Ghost 7.5 and later.
  121.    Norton Ghost 2002 and later.
  122.    -FFATID  Partition ID Changes the partition ID of the FAT partition to
  123.    the  recommended  partition ID for the FAT partition. The partition ID
  124.    is stored in the partition table.
  125.    This  switch  only works when Ghost creates and saves an image file or
  126.    when  Ghost  clones  dynamically  (such  as  with  a  Disk-to-Disk  or
  127.    Partition-to-Partition  operation).  This  switch  has  no effect when
  128.    Ghost restores an image file to a disk or partition.
  129.    For  example,  if  you  clone  a  partition  of type 0xA0 (which is an
  130.    unknown
  131.    partition  ID),  and Ghost sees the partition as a valid FAT partition
  132.    (that is, FAT12, FAT16, or FAT32), then Ghost changes the partition ID
  133.    from 0xA0 to an ID that is valid for FAT12, FAT16, or FAT32.
  134.    This  was  default  Symantec Ghost behavior before Symantec Ghost 7.5.
  135.    This  switch allows for backward compatibility. Symantec Ghost 7.5 and
  136.    later.
  137.    Norton Ghost 2003
  138.    -FFI  Drive  detection Causes Norton Ghost to prefer the use of direct
  139.    IDE access. May be faster for IDE drives.
  140.    -FFS  Drive  detection Causes Norton Ghost to prefer the use of direct
  141.    ASPI/SCSI disk access.
  142.    -FFX Drive detection Causes Norton Ghost to prefer the use of Extended
  143.    Interrupt 13h disk access for hard disk drive operations.
  144.    -FINGER Information Displays Fingerprint information. See the document
  145.    How to determine whether Ghost wrote to a disk or partition.
  146.    -FIS  Drive  detection  During  a  disk  to disk or image file to disk
  147.    operation,  Norton  Ghost  calculates the positioning of partitions on
  148.    the destination hard disk drive. Some PC BIOSes tend not to report the
  149.    last  cylinder  of  a  hard  disk drive. During disk detection, Norton
  150.    Ghost detects this inaccuracy and uses the safer disk geometry size to
  151.    avoid  any  possible integrity issues on such systems. Using the safer
  152.    disk geometry value on such systems may leave several megabytes unused
  153.    in  the  destination  disk's  partitions  and  cause small differences
  154.    between  the  source and destination disks' available free space. -FIS
  155.    allows this integrity feature to be disabled.
  156.    -FNA  Drive  detection  Turns off asynchronous Input/Output. When -FNI
  157.    solves  a  disk  access  problem,  -FNA  and  -FNU can be used to help
  158.    diagnose the disk access problem. Symantec Ghost 7.0 and later.
  159.    Norton Ghost 2002 and later.
  160.    -FNF Information Turns off Fingerprint creation.
  161.    -FNI Drive detection Disables direct IDE access support.
  162.    Use  the  NOIDE  switch  if  you  want to turn off all IDE access with
  163.    Norton Ghost 2003.
  164.    -FNS Drive detection Disables direct ASPI/SCSI access support (an ASPI
  165.    driver is necessary for direct SCSI access).
  166.    -FNU Drive detection This switch prevents Ghost from accessing the IDE
  167.    drive  by  means  of Ultra DMA and forces Ghost to access the drive by
  168.    means of PIO instead. For information on Ghost's drive access methods,
  169.    see the document Description of Ghost Diagnostic Error File.
  170.    When  -FNI  solves a disk access problem, -FNA and -FNU can be used to
  171.    help diagnose the disk access problem. Symantec Ghost 7.0 and later.
  172.    Norton Ghost 2002 and later.
  173.    -FNX  Drive  detection  Force  disabling  of  Extended  INT13 calls if
  174.    present.
  175.    -FORCE1394  Disk  Forces  the ghost 1394 controller to start. Symantec
  176.    Ghost 8.0
  177.    -FORCEUSB  Disk  Forces  the  ghost  USB controller to start. Symantec
  178.    Ghost 8.0
  179.    -FRO  Bad  disk  Continue  cloning  even when source disk or partition
  180.    contains bad blocks.
  181.    -FX User intervention Exit program when finished cloning.
  182.    -GHOSTONCD  Information Includes Ghost.exe on a CD/DVD when writing an
  183.    image to a CD/DVD. Symantec Ghost 8.0Norton Ghost 2003
  184.    -H or -? or -HELP Information Shows the Ghost command-line switch Help
  185.    page. The switch also works in Ghost Walker. Use as Ghost.exe -h
  186.    -IA  Sector  copy  When creating an image or copying disk to disk, the
  187.    -IA  switch  (Image  All)  forces  a sector-by-sector copy, and copies
  188.    every  sector,  including  blank sectors and the boot sector, from one
  189.    drive to another or to an image.
  190.      * This  switch  filters  out  extraneous  or  erroneous  boot  track
  191.        information.
  192.      * Does not copy unpartitioned space on the drive.
  193.      * Partition sizes cannot be altered when using the -IA switch.
  194.      * For similar functionality, see the switches -IB, -ID, and -IR.
  195.  
  196.    -IAL  Linux  Force  a sector-by-sector copy of Linux partitions. Clone
  197.    other partitions as usual (natively).
  198.    -IB  Sector  copy  When creating an image or copying disk to disk, the
  199.    -IB switch (Image Boot) forces a sector-by-sector copy, and copies the
  200.    entire boot track; not just the boot sector.
  201.    Use  this  switch when applications, such as some boot-time utilities,
  202.    use the boot track to store information.
  203.      * You  cannot  perform  partition-to-partition or partition-to-image
  204.        operations with the -IB switch.
  205.      * Partition sizes cannot be altered when using the -IB switch.
  206.  
  207.    -ID  Sector  copy  When creating an image or copying disk to disk, the
  208.    -ID switch (Image Disk) forces a sector-by-sector copy, and copies the
  209.    entire  boot track, extended partition tables, and unpartitioned space
  210.    on the disk.
  211.      * Partition sizes cannot be altered when using the -ID switch.
  212.  
  213.    -IGB Boot partition Ignore Ghost Boot partition.
  214.    When  creating  an  image file, the -IGB switch tells Ghost to exclude
  215.    the  Ghost  boot  partition.  That is, when the source disk includes a
  216.    Ghost  boot partition and you use the -IGB switch, the resulting image
  217.    file does not include the Ghost boot partition.
  218.    When  writing  an image file to a disk, the -IGB switch tells Ghost to
  219.    ignore  the  boot  partition that is on the destination disk. That is,
  220.    when  the destination disk includes a Ghost boot partition and you use
  221.    the  -IGB  switch,  Ghost  does not write over the existing Ghost boot
  222.    partition.
  223.    The  Ghost  Enterprise  Console  in  Ghost  6.0 and later use the -IGB
  224.    switch by default.

  230.    -IMGDESC  Adds a single-line image file description to the image file.

  235.      * Clone switch mode must be create, dump, prcreate, or pdump

  239.    -IMGDESCFILE  Specifies  a  text  file  that  contains  an  image file
  240.    description to be added to the image file.
  241.    This has the following restrictions:
  242.      * Cannot be used with -imgdesc
  243.      * Must be used with the clone switch
  244.      * Clone switch mode must be create, dump, prcreate, or pdump
  245.

  248.    -INT41  Drive  detection  Use  DOS  drive  table for determining drive
  249.    geometry. Removed from Ghost 8.0
  250.    -IR  Sector  copy  When creating an image or copying disk to disk, the
  251.    -IR  switch (Image Raw) forces a sector-by-sector copy and tells Ghost
  252.    to  restore  the  boot  track  information as is without attempting to
  253.    repair minor boot track problems. That is, Ghost creates an image file
  254.    that  is  an  exact  copy  of the source disk, including extraneous or
  255.    erroneous boot track information.
  256.    This  switch  copies  everything that the -ID switch does but does not
  257.    filter out extraneous or erroneous boot track information.
  258.      * Partition sizes cannot be altered when using the -ID switch.
  259.  
  260.    Symantec Ghost 7.0 and later.
  261.    Norton Ghost 2002 and later.
  262.    -JA=sessionname  Has  the  Ghost  connect  to  the Multicast Server or
  263.    GhostCast  Server by using the specified session name. When using this
  264.    switch,  use  Ghost Multicast Server or GhostCast server to define the
  265.    disk and partition that you want cloned, rather than defining the disk
  266.    or partition at the computer at which you run Ghost.exe. Not available
  267.    in Norton Ghost 2001, 2002, or 2003.
  268.    -JADDR=<id_address>  Use  this switch to specify the IP address of the
  269.    computer that runs the GhostCast Server or Ghost Console.
  270.    Ghost 7.5 and later.
  271.    Not available in Norton Ghost 2001, 2002, or 2003.
  272.    -JL:x=path  Diagnostics Create multicast diagnostic file. See document
  273.    Switches: Cloning Not available in Norton Ghost 2001, 2002, or 2003.
  274.    -JS=n  Network Specifies the maximum number of hops between the client
  275.    computer  and  Ghost  server.  In  older  Ghost  versions, the maximum
  276.    allowed is 10 hops.
  277.    Used  to  increase  the  number  of hops required to contact the Ghost
  278.    Multicast  Server.  For instance, when Ghost is set for a -JS value of
  279.    1,  the packet will make it through 1 router only, and be stopped at a
  280.    second router.
  281.    Ghost's  ability  to successfully clone over many hops is dependent on
  282.    timing  issues and router and switch restrictions. The fewer hops, the
  283.    greater  likelihood of a successful GHOST connection. Not available in
  284.    Norton Ghost 2001, 2002, or 2003.
  285.    -LOCKINFO  Information  Displays  information from the computer's BIOS
  286.    such as the computer's manufacturer.

  288.    -LOCKTYPE  Protects  the  image file so that it can be written only to
  289.    computers whose BIOS information matches the specified BIOS parameters
  290.    of the source computer.

  292.    -LPM Launch Ghost as LPT Master. Useful in batch mode.
  293.    -LPS Launch Ghost as LPT Slave. Useful in batch mode.
  294.    -MEMCHECK  Diagnostics Displays a diagnostic memory dump for technical
  295.    support issues.
  296.    MODE  -Clone  Used  as  a  parameter with the -CLONE switch. Takes the
  297.    values  COPY,  LOAD,  DUMP,  PCOPY,  PLOAD,  PDUMP.  See  the document
  298.    Switches: Cloning.
  299.    -NBM Launch Ghost as NetBIOS Master. Removed from Symantec Ghost 8.0.
  300.    -NBS Launch Ghost as NetBIOS Slave. Removed from Symantec Ghost 8.0.
  301.    NO1394 Disk Disables Firewire 1394 support. Symantec Ghost 8.0
  302.    -NOAUTO  Disables  the  automatic naming of spanned image files during
  303.    creation.   The   user  is  prompted  for  confirmation  of  the  next
  304.    destination location for the remainder of the image file that is being
  305.    restored. Symantec Ghost 8.0

  307.    -NOAUTOSKIP Includes the hibernation and skip files in the image file.

  310.    -NOFILE  User  intervention  Prevents  display of the dump file dialog
  311.    box.
  312.    -NOIDE Disables access to IDE devices. Symantec Ghost 8.0

  314.    -NOINDEX Prevents Norton Ghost from creating an index when creating an
  315.    image file. This slightly reduces the size of the image file and saves
  316.    memory  but  Ghost  Explorer is much slower in reading the image file.
  317.    This  switch  is  useful  if you are saving an image file from a large
  318.    disk with very little memory. Symantec Ghost 8.0

  320.    -NOLILO  Linux  Do  not  allow Ghost to attempt to patch the LILO boot
  321.    loader after cloning.
  322.    -NOUSB Disk Disables USB support. Symantec Ghost 8.0
  323.    -NOSCSI Drive detection Disables access to SCSI devices via ASPI.
  324.    -NTC- NTFS partitions Disable NTFS contiguous cluster run allocation.
  325.    -NTCHKDSK  NTFS  partitions  Force  CHKDSK  to  run  when restarting a
  326.    computer that uses NTFS on the boot partition.
  327.    Ghost  prevents  CHKDSK  from  running  on  the  client computer after
  328.    cloning  a  Windows  NT/2000 computer. To force CHKDSK to run, use the
  329.    -NTCHKDSK switch.
  330.    -NTD NTFS partitions Enable NTFS internal diagnostic checking.
  331.    -NTIC NTFS partitions Ignore the NTFS volume CHKDSK bit.
  332.    -NTIID  NTFS  partitions  Ignores the partition's System ID and clones
  333.    based  on  the  underlying  file  system,  instead  of defaulting to a
  334.    sector-by-sector Image All cloning.
  335.    The  -NTIID  switch enables the Windows NT volume set partitions to be
  336.    intelligently  cloned  file  by  file, which allows resizing. However,
  337.    using   the   -NTIID  switch  with  volume  and  Stripe  sets  is  not
  338.    recommended.
  339.    -NTIL   NTFS   partitions   Ignore   non-empty  NTFS  Log  File  check
  340.    (Inconsistent volume).
  341.    -NTN  NTFS partitions Inhibit CHKDSK on NTFS volume boot. In Ghost 6.5
  342.    and later, Ghost does this automatically. Removed from Ghost 8.0
  343.    -NTX:x  NTFS  partitions  Set  the  size of Ghost's NTFS volume memory
  344.    cache to x KB. The default is 8000. Removed from Ghost 8.0
  345.    -OR  Override  destination  drive  space limitations. Useful for batch
  346.    mode.
  347.    -PFILE=<directory>  Clone  Specify  an alternate directory to hold the
  348.    File Preservation Metadata File Symantec Ghost 8.0
  349.    -PMBR Specifies that the master boot record of the destination disk be
  350.    preserved when performing a Disk-to-Disk or Image-to-Disk operation.

  376.    -PWD=password  Image  file Use this password on the Ghost command line
  377.    when you have Ghost create the image file.
  378.      * When you restore the image file (that is, you have Ghost write the
  379.        image  file over a disk or partition), Ghost will require that you
  380.        enter this password.
  381.      * The password can be up to 10 characters long.
  382.      * Using  a  password  longer  than 10 characters might prevent Ghost
  383.        from restoring the file.
  384.  
  385.    -QUIET User intervention User intervention is at two prompts: "Proceed
  386.    with disk load?" and "Reset computer or continue?"
  387.    -RB  User  intervention  In  batch  mode, this forces automatic reboot
  388.    after completion.
  389.    -RECOVER  Clone  Use  a  detected  File Preservation Metadata File and
  390.    preserve the files/directories it describes. Symantec Ghost 8.0
  391.    -SCRIPT=filename  Instructs  Ghost  to execute the Ghost command lines
  392.    that  are listed in the file specified. Ghost executes the commands in
  393.    the order that they are listed in the text file.
  394.    -SGB  Boot  partition Tells Ghost Multicast Server to ignore the Ghost
  395.    boot partition. That is, when you write an image to a disk and use the
  396.    -SGB  switch,  Ghost Multicast Server will not write over the existing
  397.    Ghost boot partition. See the related switch, -IGB.
  398.    -SKIP=filename Skip this filename during image creation.
  399.    -SLEEP Slows down the execution of Ghost.
  400.    -SLOWFILE  This  switch  causes  Ghost  to use different functions for
  401.    image  file  Input/Output.  This  resolves  problems with some network
  402.    interface cards. This switch has no effect when used with Ghostpe.exe.

  404.    -SPAN Image file Turn on spanning.
  405.    -SPLIT=x Image file By default in most cases, Ghost will save an image
  406.    as  a  single file. This switch forces Ghost to save the image file as

  408.    is  usually smaller than x. The maximum value for the -SPLIT switch is
  409.    2048 MB.
  410.    SRC  -Clone  Used  as  a parameter with the -CLONE switch. Defines the
  411.    location  of  the  source  partition,  disk,  or  image  file. See the
  412.    document Switches: Cloning.
  413.    -SURE  User  intervention  Used  with  the  -CLONE switch to avoid the
  414.    prompts "Partition size correct?" and "Proceed with disk load?"
  415.      * If  -SURE  is  run  from  a  DOS  command line, Ghost finishes the
  416.        operation,  bypasses  the prompt "Reset computer or continue?" and
  417.        returns to a DOS prompt.
  418.      * If -SURE is run from the Ghost.exe graphical user interface (GUI),
  419.        Ghost  finishes  the  operation  and  displays  the  prompt "Reset
  420.        computer or continue?"

  423.    -SZE  Specifies  the  desired  size of the destination partition for a

  435.    -SZEL  Forces  Norton  Ghost  to  keep  the  sizes  of all destination

  441.    -TAPEBSIZE  Sets  the  block size on the tape you are writing an image
  442.    to.
  443.    -TAPEBUFFERED Use on old DAT drives with unreliable tapes.
  444.    -TAPEEJECT  By  default, Ghost rewinds the tape after a tape operation
  445.    and  then  exits  to  DOS.  This switch forces Ghost to eject the tape
  446.    following  a tape operation. If the tape drive does not support remote
  447.    ejection you must eject the tape manually.
  448.    Ghost  versions  prior  to  Ghost  2001  and  6.5  ejected the tape by
  449.    default.
  450.    -TAPESAFE Use on old DAT drives with unreliable tapes.
  451.    -TAPESIZE  Not a valid switch. Ghost manuals that refer to this switch
  452.    are  in  error.  Instead,  use the -TAPEBSIZE switch. See the document
  453.    Switch -TAPESIZE does not appear to work
  454.    -TAPESPEED=x X is the speed in hexadecimal, ranging from 0 to F, where
  455.    0 is the default speed, and F is the maximum speed.
  456.    -TAPEUNBUFFERED Use on old DAT drives with unreliable tapes.
  457.    -TCPM[:slave IP address]
  458.    This  switch  sets  Ghost to the TCP/IP master mode. The switch causes
  459.    Ghost to automatically use a TCP/IP peer-to-peer connection, with this
  460.    computer  set  in  master  mode, and is equivalent to selecting TCP/IP
  461.    Master  from the Ghost.exe or Ghostpe.exe main menu. Specifying the IP
  462.    address of the slave computer on the command line is optional.
  463.    -TCPS  This  switch  sets  Ghost to the TCP/IP slave mode. This switch
  464.    causes  Ghost  to  automatically use a TCP/IP peer-to-peer connection,
  465.    with  this  computer set in slave mode, and is equivalent to selecting
  466.    TCP/IP Slave from the Ghost.exe or Ghostpe.exe main menu.
  467.    -U[u|d|m] Sets the Data Transfer mode to unicasting, direct broadcast,
  468.    or  multicasting.  Use  the  switch  at  a  DOS  command prompt in the
  469.    Advanced options on the Clone tab in a Task in the Ghost Console or in
  470.    the "Command line" box in GhostCast Server.
  471.    For  instance,  the  following  command  line runs GhostCast Server in
  472.    Directed Broadcast Mode to write the image W2K.gho to all computers on
  473.    a single subnet in a GhostCast Session that is called Sales.
  474.    Ghostsrv.exe C:\images\w2k.gho sales -ud Symantec Ghost 7.5 and later.

  476.    -USBM  This  switch  sets  Ghost  to  the USB master mode. This switch
  477.    causes Ghost to automatically use a USB connection, with this computer
  478.    set in master mode, and is equivalent to selecting USB Master from the
  479.    Ghost.exe or Ghostpe.exe main menu.
  480.    -USBS This switch sets Ghost to the USB slave mode. This switch causes
  481.    Ghost to automatically use a USB connection, with this computer set in
  482.    slave  mode,  and  is  equivalent  to  selecting  USB  Slave  from the
  483.    Ghost.exe or Ghostpe.exe main menu.
  484.    -VDW Bad disk Verifies disk writes.
  485.    -VER Information Displays Ghost version number.
  486.    -VER=value  Tests  the  version  of  Ghost. If Ghost is older than the
  487.    specified version, Ghost aborts and exits, otherwise Ghost proceeds as
  488.    normal.  The  value  is  a  three digit number and should be specified
  489.    without  the  period.  For example, Symantec Ghost 7.0 is specified as
  490.    -ver=700, and Norton Ghost 2001, which is version 6.5, is specified as
  491.    -ver=650.  In Symantec Ghost, this switch is designed for use in batch

  494.    -WD- Turns off Disk Write caching.
  495.    -WS- Turns off Disk Read caching.
  496.    -Zx  Image  file  When saving an image as a file, Ghost compresses the
  497.    file. Ghost uses the following compression levels:
  498.      * -Z defaults to level 1.
  499.      * 1  =  Fast.  This  is  lowest  compression  level, and the fastest
  500.        transfer rate (apart from no compression).
  501.      * 2 = High compression.
