You can drag any number of files and folders from Windows Explorer then drop them on the "Protected Files and Folders" to protect them.
Double click an item on the "Protected Files and Folders" to open it.
Folder Security Personal still works under Windows Safe Mode.
Folder Security Personal provides three protection options: Hide and Block, Block, and Read-Only.
You can change the previously set protection option for a group of objects by selecting them then pressing Ctrl+M
Folder Security Personal can protect files, folders, local hard disks, Floppy drives, CD-Rom drives, and removable disks(USB disks, etc).
Without password, nobody is able to delete, rename, move, modify, or use the protected objects.
Folder Security Personal has two working modes: Automatic Mode and Manual Mode. You can set it by clicking the toolbar button "Mode".
Automatic Mode is an "All or nothing" mode. In this mode, all the protected objects will be automatically unlocked after you logon and locked again when the Folder Security Personal program is closed.
In the Manual Mode, all protected objects will remain in locked state until they are manually unlocked by the Folder Security Personal program.
You can use the "*" and "?" wildcards to protect a certain type of files. For example, only type c:\Docs\*.doc to protect all .doc files in the folder c:\Docs.
Select an object on the "Protected Files and Folders" then press Ctrl+E to change its protection option or to edit memo.
You can hide your Windows desktop, My Documents folder and the History file, so that other people cann't delete, add, or modify your shortcuts, or icons, etc. To do this, click the "Special Folders" tab and select what you want to protect.
If you want to prevent other people from copying files to or from your computer, you can use Folder Security Personal to block accesses to external drives. To do this, click the "External Drives" tab and select what you want to protect.
You can write a brief memo for each protected object.
Don't protect critical system files, otherwise Windows won't boot correctly next time.
You can hide the main windows of Folder Security Personal and show it again by pressing Alt+F10.
