  22. The procedure below describes how to install ASUS display drivers for Windows 2000.

  26. Installing ASUS display drivers for Windows 2000
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28. Method 1 (ASUS Autorun. Quick installation)
  29.   1. These drivers must be installed by a user with Windows 2000 Administrator
  30.      privileges. Please consult your system administrator or Microsoft Windows 2000
  31.      User's Manual for more information on Administrator privileges.
  32.   2. Start Microsoft Windows 2000.
  33.   3. From the Start menu, select Settings.
  34.   4. Select Control Panel.
  35.   5. Select Display.
  36.   6. Select the Settings tab.
  37.   7. Select Advanced.
  38.   8. Select Adapter.
  39.   9. Select Properties.
  40.  10. Select Driver.
  41.  11. Select Update Driver.
  42.  12. Select Next.
  43.  13. Click the box next to "Display a list of the known drivers for this device
  44.      so that I can chhose a specific driver" to place a check mark in the box.
  45.      selece Next.
  46.  14. Select "Have Disk..."
  47.  15. Windwos 2000 will prompt you for the correct path, enter the path of the driver
  48.      such as D:\Win2k (assuming your CD-ROM drive is letter D)
  49.  16. A list of video adapters will be displayed. Select the correct card you are using,
  50.      then Click Next.
  51.  17. Select Next.
  52.  18. Select Finish.
  53.  19  Select Close.
  54.  20. Windows 2000 will ask if you wish to restart the computer. Select Yes.
  55.      your video adapter is now ready to use.

  57. Method 2 (ASUS Autorun. Quick installation)
  58.   1. Start Windows.
  59.   2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
  60.   3. The AutoPlay function of CD-ROM will work and pop up ASUS Autorun
  61.      window.
  62.   4. Select "Install display driver" option.
  63.   5. Follow the instructions on dialog. Driver will be installed and
  64.      request for restart.
  65.   6. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.

  67. Method 3 (Run ASUS installation program directly)
  68.   1. Start Windows.
  69.   2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
  70.   3. Change to "D:\Win2k" directory and execute "ANvSETUP.EXE". You also can
  71.      change to "D:\Win2k\ANvWest" or "D:\Win2k\ANvEast" directory (depending on
  72.      your language) for multi-language support installation and run "setup.exe".
  73.   4. Follow the instructions. Driver will be installed and request for
  74.      restarting.
  75.   5. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.

  78. Uninstall instructions
  79. ----------------------
  80. 1. These drivers must be uninstalled by a user with Windows 2000 Administrator
  81.    privileges.  Please consult your system administrator or Microsoft
  82.    Windows 2000 User's Manual for more information on Administrator privileges.
  83. 2. Start Microsoft Windows 2000.
  84. 3. Click Start control bar option, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
  85. 4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, click "ASUS Display Drivers", click Add/Remove.
  86. 5. Click Yes when asked if you wish to continue.
  87. 6. Click OK when asked if you wish to restart the computer.

  90. Important notes
  91. ----------------

  93. 1. ASUS display cards consume more electrical power so that your
  94.    motherboard must be able to provide enough electrical current in 3.3V
  95.    power to maintain its normal operation.

  97. 2. ASUS display cards are recommended to use with Intel 440BX chipset
  98.    for best compatibility.
  99.  
  100. 3. The ASUS VR-100 Optional Upgrade Kit must be installed to enable the the ASUS VR-100G 3D
  101.    Galsses to be used with Pure models of the ASUS display cards.
  102.  
  103. 4. To enable TV-Out function in Windows 2000/NT, just connect the TV connector to the VGA card.
  104.    Don't connect the monitor's 15-pin VGA connector to the VGA card.
  105.  
  106. 5. ASUS Capture driver does not work correctly with ABIT-BP6 MotherBoard.

  108. 6. New algorithms for Direct3D VR.
  109.  
  110. 7. To get Vr Picture Viewer worked properly, please install the proper monitor driver
  111.    from Windows or your monitor vendor.
