Borland C++ is a Registered Trademark of Borland International
PCBoard is a Registered Trademark of Clark Development Company
Now that all the Legalities are out of the way, Let me introduce you
to the easiest calls program you ever saw. And best of all we are
offering it FREE of CHARGE!
* GSC *
If you are not running PCBoard then this software WILL NOT WORK with
your bbs. This program was written using the TOOLKIT from Clark
Development Company explicitly for PCBoard systems.
GSC (herein referred to as GSC) is a simple program to implement
and will provide your system with a neat little file that will
tell everyone who was on your system, what time and what node.
And you even get to select how many of the nodes it will show and
what color (If any to display the neat little graphics in)
GSC is probably the simpliest program I ever wrote, comprising only
1 page of code its pretty neat. This program will allow you to show
your users who was on before them, You can configure things like
how many of the nodes will show (Most have the 10 node version now
but only run a couple of the nodes so this will stop you from showing
no caler this node...on all of them) and color.
GSC command line is VERY simplistic (As these docs will be)
What it does is create a FILE that you name in the following fashion:
┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Callers: Name - Origin Time On │
│ │
│ Node: 1 ROY WILLIAMS (NORFOLK, VA)...........................10:36 │
│ Node: 2 JOHN ALDRICH (VA BEACH VA)...........................09:25 │
│ Node: 3 GARY SMITH (VIRGINIA BEACH, VA)......................08:37 │
│ Node: 4 No Caller This Node..................................00:00 │
│ Node: 5 No Caller This Node..................................00:00 │
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The command line arguments are as follows:
GSC /I=[pcbstats path] /O=[Output filename] /N=[# Nodes] /C=[W,R,B,G,C]
Where /I is the path only to the PCBSTATS.DAT file (Normally in MAIN)
/O is the full path and name to the output file
/N is the number of nodes you want to show (ie /N=3 would show
3 nodes)
/C is the color you want it to be. The menu is done in the "Window"
style and the letters represent the following colors:
W = Bright White on Lgrey
R = Light Red on Red
B = Light Blue on Blue
G = Light Green on Green
C = Light Cyan on Cyan
If PCBSTATS is in the same directory as GSC then you do not have to
include the /I function.
/O is Mandatory!
/N defaults to maximum nodes (Up to 100) if not included.
/C defaults to black and white if not included.
Sample:
I run GSC in my $$LOGOFF.BAT file as follows: If you have multiple nodes
you can change the color in each .bat file and when that node logs off
it will update and change the color of the menu (Useful for knowing at
a glance which node was on last.
$$LOGOFF.BAT
_____________
@echo off
h:
cd h:\pcb\event\gsc
gsc /i=h:\pcb\main /o=h:\pcb\gen\calls /n=4 /c=B
%pcbdrive%
cd %pcbdir%
The above shows, Path to PCBSTATS.DAT file (H:\PCB\MAIN), I want to
name the output file CALLS and it will be located in the GEN directory,
I want to show 4 nodes and I want the color Blue.
Next you attach this file in a manner to which it will be shown to your
users loggin on. I put mine in the security logon file such as the following
shows: (You could attach it to your welcome, News or whatever)

%h:\pcb\gen\calls <<<<----Add it with the % sign and PCBoard will
