Stunt Island Player Utility
from Disney Software
----------------------------
What you will need to play a film:
* 640K (Need 570K of free RAM);
(2 MB or more of RAM is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
* 386SX 16MHz processor (386DX-33 or faster is recommended)
* VGA 256-color and color monitor
* PC DOS/MS DOS (supports 3.3 to 5.0)
Recommended options:
* Mouse with 100% Microsoft compatible driver
* Sound Blaster, The Sound Source, Tandy Sound (DAC),
PS/1 Audio Card or Thunder Board
* Roland MT32/LAPC-1 or Ad-Lib
* Extended or Expanded memory
Installing the Player
---------------------
The Stunt Island player cannot be run from the hard drive - it must be
installed to your CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM's DOS menu program allows you
to install the player software and the sample movies.
If you wish, you can follow these steps to run the installation program
from the DOS prompt:
1. Change to the \DOSSHOW\STUNT directory of the CD-ROM.
2. Type
INSTALL.BAT <drive>
and press Enter. <drive> stands for the driver letter of your hard
drive. For example, to install to your C: hard drive, you would type
INSTALL.BAT C: and press Enter.
Configuring the Player
----------------------
Before you can play a film, \SIDEMO directory of your hard drive, type
SETUP and press Enter. Follow the instructions in the program to configure
the player for your computer's setup. When you're finished, you'll be
returned to the DOS prompt.
Playing A Film
--------------
To play a film with the player program, change to the \SIDEMO directory of
your hard drive, type PLAYONE and press Enter. The opening screen allows
you to choose a movie.
Use the arrow keys or the mouse to move the cursor to the .FLM file you
want to play. Click on the filename to highlight it, and then move the
cursor to the OK button. Click or press ENTER and the film will start.
Keyboard Only Users: If your cursor seems stuck, press the TAB key to free it.
Click on EXIT at any time to end viewing.
Movie Controls
--------------
Controls at the bottom of the screen allow you to fast forward and reverse,
stop at certain cells and click forward or backward one frame at a time,
or to jump to the start or end of the film.
|| or || are the stop motion buttons. The first time you click them the
film will stop on that frame, further clicks to either will move forward or
back one frame.
<| or |> are the normal play and reverse buttons, they will play the film in
either direction at normal speed.
<< or >> are the fast forward and fast reverse buttons. They will play the
film in either direction at high speed.
<<< or >>> will take you to the very beginning or the very end of a film.
Configuring the Player Program
------------------------------
The Stunt Island player utility that is included can be configured to your
system very easily. At the DOS prompt, change directories to the \SIDEMO
directory of your hard drive, type SETUP and press Enter. The setup screen
will appear. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to move the cursor to the options
you want to change, and press ENTER to see a menu of options. Select the
options that match your computer and press ENTER. When you have selected
all of your options, move the cursor to "Install with these options" and
press ENTER. Your configuration will be saved, and you can play a film.
If you have trouble setting up the program - for example, the SETUP program
locks up - delete the file GAME.CFG, and then type INSTALL -N -S to bypass
the hardware autodetect sequence. This should allow you to run normally.
