  9. network connection (such as Ethernet or ISDN). Also requires
  10. Mac OS version 7.5.3 Revision 2 or later, an Internet
  11. connection of 28.8 kbps or more, Open Transport 1.1.2 or
  12. later, and QuickTime(TM) 2.5 or later.

  14. Allows you to broadcast to other machines over a network.
  15. Uses the QuickTime Conferencing system software extension
  16. (any application that can watch a QuickTime Conferencing
  17. broadcast can watch a broadcast originated using QuickTime
  18. TV Broadcaster).

  36. This software consists of a Disk Copy NDIF (New Disk Image
  37. Format) compressed image, which requires Disk Copy 6.1 or
  38. later to use. Download this software to your hard drive and
  39. then double-click it to use it. Disk Copy is available in
  40. the Utilities folder.

  42. Disk Copy 6.1 (or later) or Disk Image Mounter 2.1 (or
  43. later) from Apple are the recommended applications to access
  44. all disk images released by Apple and are the only supported
  45. applications to access NDIF disk images.

  54. QuickTime TV Broadcaster is an application that takes
  55. advantage of the networking capability built into your
  56. computer so you can broadcast to other machines over a
  57. network such as the Internet. QuickTime TV Broadcaster uses
  58. the QuickTime Conferencing system software extension. This
  59. means any application that can watch a QuickTime
  60. Conferencing broadcast (e.g., the QuickTime TV client
  61. application) can watch a broadcast originated using
  62. QuickTime TV Broadcaster.

  64. The instructions below explain how to install QuickTime TV
  65. Broadcaster. To print these instructions, choose Print from
  66. the File menu, and click the Print button in the dialog box
  67. that appears.

  69. IMPORTANT NOTE: You should NOT run this installer on a
  70. machine configured for QuickTime Conferencing/H.320 because
  71. the application supporting H.320 currently will not run on
  72. the QuickTime Conferencing 1.5.8 extension that this
  73. installer will install in your system folder.

  88. QuickTime TV Broadcaster has been tested extensively on the
  89. Power Macintosh 8100/80, 7500, 7600, 8500, and Performa
  90. 6400. You will receive a warning when trying to install on
  91. other PowerPC-based Mac OS computers; however, you will still
  92. be allowed to install the software.

  94. QuickTime TV Broadcaster supports Apple built-in video.
  95. Apple cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party video
  96. input cards. QuickTime TV Broadcaster does not require both
  97. audio and video sources in order to function correctly.

  115. Do not turn your extensions off (either by using the
  116. Extensions Manager or by holding down the shift key while
  117. restarting) before installing. If you do, you will not be
  118. allowed to install the software.

  120. Double-click on the "QTTV Broadcaster Installer" icon.
  121. Follow the directions on the screen to install the software.
  122. You will be asked to restart your computer. You will then
  123. find the software in a new folder on your hard drive called
  124. "QuickTime TV." Look inside this folder for the file "About
  125. QuickTime TV Broadcaster," which explains how to use the
  126. QuickTime TV Broadcaster application.
