  4. Description:  Corrects problems that may occur with external
  5. SCSI devices and adds support for additional Ethernet
  6. network protocols. This update is designed for use with
  7. Macintosh Performa 6360, 64xx series Macintosh computers,
  8. such as the Macintosh Performa 6400 and the Power Macintosh
  9. 6400, and 54xx series Macintosh computers, such as the
  10. Macintosh Performa 5400 and Power Macintosh 5400. This
  11. update is only for Croatian versions of MacOS.

  13. This software consists of a self-extracting archive of a
  14. Disk Copy 1440K disk image.  To use, download, double-click
  15. the downloaded file (this decompresses it), and use Disk
  16. Copy to create a disk.

  21. About the 6360/64xx/54xx Update

  23. The 6360/64xx/54xx Update corrects problems that may occur
  24. with external SCSI devices and adds support for additional
  25. Ethernet network protocols. The Update is designed for use
  26. with the following Power Macintosh and Performa models:

  28. * Macintosh Performa 6360
  29. * 64xx series Macintosh computers, such as the Macintosh
  30.   Performa 6400 and the Power Macintosh 6400
  31. * 54xx series Macintosh computers, such as the Macintosh
  32.   Performa 5400 and Power Macintosh 5400

  34. Fixes and Features Provided by this Update
  35.  
  36. The 6360/64xx/54xx Update provides the following corrections
  37. and features for 6360, 64xx series, and 54xx series
  38. Macintosh computers:
  39.  
  40. * Fixes problems with using some external SCSI devices, such
  41. as external hard disks, scanners, or removable storage
  42. devices.
  43.  
  44. * Fixes problems with printing to a Personal LaserWriter SC
  45. or LaserWriter II SC printer. Apple recommends using
  46. QuickDraw GX and the LaserWriter II SC GX printer driver
  47. with LaserWriter SC printers because there are known
  48. problems with the non-GX LaserWriter SC printer driver. You
  49. can install QuickDraw GX from the system software CD-ROM
  50. disc that came with your computer or download the software
  51. from the Apple Software Update sites on the Internet via
  52. <http://www.info.apple.com/swupdates/>, America Online, or
  53. CompuServe.

  55. * Adds support for additional Ethernet network protocols. If
  56. your computer uses the optional Ethernet CS II card to
  57. provide Ethernet networking, the 6360/64xx/54xx Update
  58. installs files that provide support for the MacIPX and Local
  59. Area Transport (LAT) network protocols.

  61. Installing the 6360/64xx/54xx Update
  62.  
  63. To install the 6360/64xx/54xx Update, do the following:
  64.  
  65. 1. Start up your computer.
  66.  
  67. If one or more external SCSI devices are preventing your
  68. computer from starting up properly, turn them off before
  69. starting up. If your computer still does not start up, turn
  70. off your computer and SCSI devices. Then disconnect the SCSI
  71. devices and try starting up your computer again.

  73. 2. Double-click the Installer icon.
  74.  
  75. 3. Click the Switch Disk button until your hard disk appears
  76. in the Destination Disk window.
  77.  
  78. 4. Click the Install button.
  79.  
  80. 5. Click the Restart button after installation was successful.

  82. 6. Shut down the computer and reconnect the external SCSI
  83. devices that you may have disconnected in step 1. Then start
  84. up your computer again.

  86. If you are having problems starting up your computer with
  87. external SCSI devices attached, refer to the information on
  88. connecting external SCSI devices in your Macintosh user's
  89. manual, or contact the manufacturer of your external SCSI
  90. device.

  92. Note:  If you later reinitialize your internal hard disk
  93. with Drive Setup 1.1 or earlier, the fixes installed by the
  94. 6360/64xx/54xx Update will be removed, and you will need to
  95. install it again. (Most likely you will never need to
  96. reinitialize your hard disk, which was set up properly at
  97. the factory. Before you reinitialize your hard disk, see the
  98. troubleshooting information in your Macintosh user's manual
  99. for more information.)

  102. What is installed by the 6360/64xx/54xx Update?
  103.  
  104. SCSI updates The 6360/64xx/54xx Update installer installs a
  105. patch to a partition on your internal hard drive and
  106. installs updated resources into your System file in the
  107. System Folder. None of the SCSI Update files are visible
  108. after installation. To confirm whether or not the update is
  109. installed, you should check that the new files listed below
  110. are in your Extensions folder.

  112. Ethernet updates The 6360/64xx/54xx Update installer
  113. installs the files "PCI Network Legacy Layer" and "PCI
  114. Network Legacy Loader" into your Extensions folder in your
  115. System Folder.
