  4. Folders adds depth to the Program Manager groups for MS Windows.  It 
  5. gives the ability equivalent to having groups within groups.  Each 
  6. folder can hold any type of file you decide to place in it, including
  7. more folders.
  8.  
  9. - Create folders within folders with the ability to cross-link folders,
  10.   allowing a single folder to be opened by multiple folders.
  11.  
  12. - Extremely easy to use icon selection capability making use of an icon
  13.   browser box.  Change item icons in one single, easy step.  Use icons in
  14.   ICO files, EXE's, DLL's or ICL files.
  15.  
  16. - Drag/drop capability between folders including the ability to drag
  17.   multiple items at one time.  Move or copy items between folders using 
  18.   drag/drop.  Launch programs with data files by dragging folder items
  19.   to the program.
  20.  
  21. - Save the position and size of a folder as well as the item positions
  22.   in the folder, if desired.
  23.  
  24. - Password protection.  Capable of locking individual folders using a
  25.   password entry scheme.
  26.  
  27. - Run command which stores the last twelve commands entered with no
  28.   duplication of commands.
  29.  
  30. - Improved associate command.  When running items from a folder, multiple
  31.   programs may be associated with the item's filename extension allowing
  32.   you to choose the program you wish to run.

  34. - Items in folders may be assigned hotkeys for quick access.  They may
  35.   also be set to run minimized or maximized and to inquire for a file
  36.   parameter when launched.

  38. - Display items in a folder as icons, text or push buttons.  In icon mode,
  39.   background color of folder may be set to different colors.

  41. - Customizable popup run menu with menu editor dialog to maintain it.  Menu
  42.   items may be set run minimized or maximized and hotkeys may be assigned
  43.   to them.

  46. Installation
  47. To install Folders or to install a new version of Folders,
  48. follow the steps below.
  49.  
  50. 1. Insert the Folders disk into the appropriate drive (a: or b:).
  51.  
  52. 2. From Program Manager or File Manager select the Run command and type in
  53.    a:install.exe.  If using the b drive, substitute a: with b:.
  54.  
  55. 3. Follow the install program's directions for installing the software.
  56.  
  57. Should this process fail for any reason, follow the instructions for the manual
  58. install process given at the end of this file.

  60. If you have been using a previous version of Folders, you will be given the
  61. opportunity to import it into the new Folders.

  64. Uninstalling
  65. An uninstall program is provided to remove Folders from your system.  To use
  66. it, run the program unstall.exe which should be on the Folders program diskette.

  69. Getting Started:
  70.   1. Once the program is installed, open your first folder located in the 
  71.      Folders group created during install by double-clicking the folder
  72.      icon.
  73.   2. You can rename the folder using the Name command under the File
  74.      menu.  Be sure and rename it in the program group, too.
  75.   3. From this folder, or any folder you create, you can make new folders.
  76.      Simply choose New from the File menu.  You can create subfolders 
  77.      within the current folder or new group-level folders such as this
  78.      first folder.
  79.   4. Create whatever folders you want and add items to them using the
  80.      Add Item command from the Edit menu.  For detail information on each 
  81.      command, use either the help menu or read FOLDERS.WRI.

  85. Note that this is a shareware program.  As such, you may use it on a trial
  86. basis for thirty days.  After this time, the program should be registered 
  87. if it is continued to be used.  The cost is $29 plus $2 shipping/handling
