CONTEST RULES
Contest entries must be received by Potato League Sports on or before
Sept. 11. You may enter as often as you like, but each entry must come on
a separate diskette and include the service fee.
The service fee for updates is $25. This fee includes the costs of
maintaining the contest, tracking the players for the individual draft
totals, postage, shipping, and related costs to keep all entrants
notified. You will be notified twice throughout the season as to how
you are doing in relation to all other entries. These reports are
scheduled for the 8th and 16th weeks of the season.
The contest will be divided into groups or divisions of approximately 25
each (divisions will be by region, state, area code, or other reasonable
method). THERE WILL BE 3 WINNERS IN EVERY GROUP, with 1st place receiving
an official team jacket, 2nd a team jersey, and 3rd a team cap. First,
second, and third place also receive free entries in next year's draft.
An OVERALL winner of the ENTIRE contest will be declared. This winner's
name will be included in our national advertising for the upcoming year
(this year's includes The Sporting News, Street & Smith's, and others),
and they will have earned the right to help designate the player
preferences for next year's contest (if he/she desires).
SCORING for the contest is as follows: At any given point in the contest,
the scores of the top 60% of your players at each position count toward
the total score of your team. In the event of a tie in any group or
division, or for all contestants, then the percentage increases to 80%,
then 100%, then back to 40%, then 20% and finally the top score by each
draft pick in the order picked will determine the winner. NOTE that at
each percentage, only those tied for the lead are considered at the next
percentage (ex. if 10 people are tied with 60% of their players counting,
but only 6 of those ten are still tied for the lead at 80%, then only
those 6 are eligible for consideration at 100%) . If, by chance, the
exact players were picked in the exact order by more than one entrant, we
would employ a playoff pick-off. (This is next to impossible!)
