It's very convenient for students in that faculty and also well placed for OUSU, 'The Lamb and Flag' and the [ITAL]excellent[EITAL] Maison Blanc patisserie. It's a big and modern college - only 124 years old. The main buildings are Victorian redbrick. These buildings contrast [ITAL]almost violently[EITAL] with the spaceship which landed one night in the rear quad and claimed it was the bar and Middle Common Room. [ITAL]Students get out and about and are often to be found amongst the hacks of OUSU, the journos of Cherwell, the most vocal musicians or most sporting sporties. [EITAL][PARA][PARA]Large [ITAL]popular [EITAL]purpose-built bar; weekly bop; big ball every other year. [ITAL]Politically active; well-attended[EITAL] JCR meetings; [ITAL]active [EITAL]rag, and [ITAL]strong[EITAL] drama (4 new theatre companies last year). Library (40,000 books); 8 computers; Anglican chapel. 'The Brick' for college news. [ITAL] Very sporty [EITAL](over 40 'Blues')[ITAL] and excellent[EITAL] sports facilities, but most over 1 mile away. [ITAL]Especially strong at rugby, hockey, football, and netball. [EITAL]1st and 2nd years live in; catered pay-as-you-eat credit system and limited self-catering; no shared rooms; 93 more rooms on site in 1995. Car parking close by, [ITAL]not safe[EITAL].
