Also, nearly 85% of finalists come back into halls and 20% of postgrads, but 2nd years are usually on their own. The main sets of halls are Penbryn (525) and Cwrt Mawr (561) and these are semi-catered 1st year halls (7 evening meals a week included in cost). Based on the campus, Penbryn's made up of 5 halls with a communal dining room and isn't far from the Guild. There are also 1,000 places in the new student village at Pentre Jane Morgan. Pantycelyn Hall (260) is the Welsh hall where students speak Welsh or learn it and where a collection of Welsh treasures such as paintings and musical instruments is housed. There are converted Victorian boarding houses by Old College down on the sea front (250), about 15 mins uphill to the campus and 2 mins back depending on the wind direction. [ITAL]A room with a view is not a rare commodity in Aber's College accommodation. [EITAL]Rosser Hall (332) and Trefloyne (144) are newish blocks of self-contained flats.[ITAL] [EITAL]Llanbadarn has 150 catered rooms in low long blocks. 25% of rooms are shared (particularly in the sea front houses), although nobody has to double up after their 1st year.[PARA][BOLD]Car parking: [EBOLD]There's a large permit car-park on the Penglais campus and [ITAL]parking's not too hard around town[EITAL]. [ITAL]Aber is not really large enough to support all its student population and, as a result, finding places to live out isn't the easiest job in the world, but could be worse.[EITAL] Some students move into digs (catered accommodation in the landlord/lady's home) at an average cost of ú53 per week.[PARA][BOLD]Housing help:[EBOLD] The University's residential office is lumbered with the task of helping house students.
