Available Options Help 1 of 3
DSPACE is a disk space management utility that
lets you limit a user's disk space (by volume
on a NetWare 386 server, or by server on a
NetWare 286 server). On a NetWare 386 server
you can also limit the maximum size of a
directory and its subdirectories.
To choose an option, highlight the option,
then press <Enter>.
The Main Menu options are described on the
next screens.

Change File Server
Lets you choose which server to work with.
User Restrictions
Lets you limit a user's disk space usage
on the current server. You are asked to
select a user, and then a volume on a 386
server. Then you can view or modify the
user's restrictions.

Directory Restrictions (386 only)
Lets you select a directory and view the
directory's restrictions, available space,
and minimum directory size for directories
in the path.
If you have supervisor rights in a
directory's parent, you can modify the
restriction.
Limit Space Help 1 of 1
This field determines whether or not there
will be a space restriction for the selected
user on the selected server.
To place a restriction on the user, type Yes.
Then go to the Available field to enter the
actual restriction.
To remove all restrictions, type No.
Press <Escape> to exit.

This form lets you limit the amount of space
the user can use on the volume. The fields are
described on the next screens.
To restrict the user's disk usage, set the
Limit Space field to Yes and enter the
limitation in the Available field.
To remove a space restriction, set the Limit
Space field to No.
Press <Escape> to return to the list of

User
Gives the user's name.
Volume (386 only)
Gives the volume name.
Limit Space
Tells whether or not the user has a disk
space limit.
Available
Shows the user's space restriction, if
any.

In Use
Shows the amount of space currently in use
by the user.

Your username and a list of the users you
manage on the current server are displayed.
To view volume space restrictions for a user,
highlight the username and press <Enter>.
Press <Escape> to return to the main menu.
Volumes on Server Help 1 of 1
Displayed is a list of the volumes defined on
the current server.
Highlight the volume you want to set
limitations for and press <Enter>.
Press <Escape> to return to the list of users.
Limit Space Help 1 of 1
This field determines whether or not there
will be a space restriction for the selected
user on the selected volume.
To place a restriction on the user, type Yes.
Then go to the Available field to enter the
actual restriction.
To remove all restrictions, type No.
Press <Escape> to exit.

Displayed is the space limitation for the
selected user on the selected volume in KB.
Type the space restriction you want.
Press <Enter> to accept the restriction.\
Directory Disk Space Limitation Help 1 of 3
The space limitation information for the
selected directory is displayed. The fields
are described below:
Path Space Limit
Contains the minimum size limit for all
the directories along the selected path.
If a directory above the selected
directory has a smaller space limit, that
limit will be enforced on the current
directory.

Limit Space
Tells if there is a space restriction for
the current directory. To remove a
previous restriction, change this field to
No. To give the directory a restriction,
change this field to Yes, and then set the
restriction in the Directory Space Limit
field.
Directory Space Limit
Contains the size restriction on the
selected directory if any has been
specified. To change the restriction, edit
this field.

Currently Available
Contains the space currently available in
the selected directory. This field
reflects the path space limit as well as
the amount of space in use by the selected
directory's subdirectories and the free
space on the volume.

This field determines whether or not there
will be a space restriction for the selected
directory.
To place a restriction on the directory, type
Yes. Then go to the Directory Space Limit field
to enter the restriction.
To remove all restrictions, type No.
Press <Escape> to exit.

The space limitation for the selected
directory is displayed in KB. 1024K is the
default space restriction.
Type the space restriction you want; then
press <Enter>.

Gives the user's name.
Restrictions enforced
Shows whether this server is now enforcing
disk restrictions. If YES, the values of
the Limit Space and Available options will
affect disk use by the user. If NO, they
will be of not effect until the server is
brought up with disk restrictions
enforced.
