  1.     The NIST Automated Computer Time Service (ACTS) transmits time 
  2. using standard telephone lines and modems.  The ACTS transmitters can 
  3. measure and correct for the delay between NIST and your system.  The 
  4. files in this directory can be used to build a program to access the 
  5. ACTS system from several different popular computer systems including 
  6. IBM-compatible PCs, workstations using many variants of the UNIX 
  7. operating system and VAX computers running the VMS operating system.
