  12. This patch solves the following installation problem :
  13. -----------------------------------------------------

  15. Outcast installation seems to work correctly but at the end of the installation,
  16. all the files are deleted (including the shortcut).
  17.  
  18. The reason is that, after installing Outcast when starting to install DirectX, 
  19. a newer version of DirectX is detected and this is reported as a fatal error (thanks Microsoft)
  20. and if we encounter fatal error we remove all the previous installed files. 
  21. This problem appears mostly on the following systems :

  23. ░ Windows 98 Second Edition 
  24. ░ Windows 2000
  25. ░ Windows 95/98 with version higher than 6.0

  29. How to use it :
  30. ---------------

  32. After 'ocpatch1.exe' decompression do this :
  33.  
  34. - Remove Outcast CD 1 from your CD driver
  35. - Run Outcast_patch_1.0.exe from your temporary directory
  36. - Insert Outcast CD 1 when message box requests it
  37. - Click on OK button

  39. The new setup will proceed in place of the original one.
