  7. This file decribes the HP-12C emulator program.  Permission is granted to
  8. distribute this shareware program as long as the files remain intact and
  9. accompanying notices are included.  The files distributed with this program

  22. Requirements: VBRUN300.DLL, Windows 3.1/3.11, VGA with 256 colors.

  24. To install, run the SETUP installation program.  It will create a windows
  25. program group and the icons for the program and associated files.  Use the
  26. CONTROL PANEL to install HP12C.FON.  This is the font for the LCD display.
  27.  
  28. The first time this program is run, a "Pr Error" message should appear in
  29. the display.  This means that no initialization file was found.  Click on
  30. any button to clear this condition.  When exiting the program via the "ON"
  31. key a new initialization file will be created or an old one updated.
  32. Therefore, to reset continous memory at any time, simply delete the
  33. initialization file before starting the program.

  35. The HP-12C is a reverse polish notation calculator, featuring a four
  36. register stack.  Numbers are keyed into the stack and operations are then
  37. performed on the numbers in the stack.  (Ex: 2.23 ENTER 4.35 +)  The stack
  38. registers are named T, Z, Y, and X.  X is displayed in the LCD display.
  39. Simple math operations are usally performed on Y and X and usually results
  40. in a stack drop.  The stack facilitates chain calculations and is one of
  41. the most functionally significant features of the calculator.

  43. All HP-12C functions have been implemented: financial, bonds, depreciation,
  44. date functions, statistics, programmability, and continous memory.  There
  45. are some minor differences especially with respect to the number of program
  46. lines.  The calculator always has 99 program lines available and all 20
  47. storage registers available for storage and math operations.

  49. Keyboard support has been added: 0-9,+,-,*,/,ENTER: math operations,
  50. c,C: CHS, e,E: EEX, t,T: toggle stay on top, Backspace: CLX,
  51. a,A: About Dialog, h,H: Windows Help.

  53. THE SHAREWARE VERSION AND THE REGISTERED VERSION HAS ALL FUNCTIONS ENABLED.

  56. should be duplicatable and reports should show the keystroke sequences that
  57. resulted in the error.  Extensive testing has been performed, so program
  58. bugs should be limited.
