Ali	The fourth caliph of Islam, Ali (600CE - 661CE) was the cousin and son-in-law of the prophet Mohammed. Regarded by many Muslims, especially the Shi'ites, as the only true descendant of the prophet and thus the source of the rightful caliphate.
